Namaste 🙏
Hope you all are doing great!
In this blog, I am going to show you guys the shortcut that we took to get to the Nainital city from the tiffin top in very less time. Being a mountain boy myself I know that the roads that are constructed nowadays for vehicles are not for walking, I mean, you can walk on them, but they are not as short as the olden roads used to be. This is similar in all the mountain regions because cars cannot climb a cheap hill while the old roads which were meant to be walked upon, were very steep and short.
When we got out of our hotel, there were two roads ahead of us. One was very short and narrow. It was very steep as well, and the other one was the Road which we took when we were coming here in our Taxi yesterday.
We took the short broken path as they were many people working on that road. I asked some of them about where this road was leading and a person told me that they were also going to the town, and this was a very shortcut from the main road, which will make us be there in just no time.
We started walking on this mysterious road, which had a lot of trees on side of it. They were very less houses there. I was not at all surprised to see that as well because I knew that these roads are like this only and there is nothing to be worried about.
As we kept on walking, the road got narrower, but it was cemented now now we were sure that we were on the right track as the trail was definitive. This time we kept following the trail and started walking across it. It was about 15 minutes when we came across this dense forest, as you can see in the photograph below.
Let me clarify a few things. The path that we took yesterday was near about 4 km long and it had a lot of turns and this path which we were walking on was kind of straight, but very steep. There were a few horseshoe kind of turns and that also was very steep but Overall this path was very beautiful and was taking us from this very thick and dense forest.
In the photograph below, you can see the horseshoe turn that I was talking about earlier. This is one of the most beautiful part of this journey. I really like roads like this and it reminds me of my childhood when I used to walk on a road like this every day to get to my school from my house, which was on top of a table top.
It was very disappointing to see a lot of litter and garbage thrown at this beautiful point at first. I didn’t notice it, but as soon as I started turning towards the other side, it was very prominently visible as you can also see in the photograph below.
There were many houses now that we came across out of sudden now. We were in between the civilisation. We spotted three houses that were built the traditional way, and I try to capture a little glimpse of those houses for you guys to see. You can see that in the photograph below.
After walking a little further, we came across this beautiful, looking small temple which really got my attention. I stopped for a while to capture its beauty and also to worship their. This was completely unexpected, and I was really happy to see it.
Just walking for 15 to 20 minutes on this road, saved us a couple kilometres of walk. This was getting broad and broad, and we knew that we were going to reach towards the main road now any time I would like to tell you guys that you should never be afraid to take shortcuts in the mountains, especially those in which local people are walking. You should never trust on the Google map while you are in mountains because The technology is still not as advanced as to navigate effectively on the mountains
That is all for today, thank you all for passing by.
