Hello,
For the past five years, I've been trying to capture the most beautiful landscapes nature has to offer in various cities. I'm no longer trying to view photography as a hobby, but rather as a profession. The natural beauty of the Mediterranean region, in particular, has become one of the places I photograph most often. Now, I'd like to share these images with you. Then, let's talk about the stories behind them and the memories they bring back to me.
The first picture comes from Ölüdeniz, a town in the Fethiye district of Muğla. I took it on April 7, 2024. The swimming season hadn't started yet. But it was the perfect time to visit. I came to Ölüdeniz for a three-day trip. I specifically chose this time and date because finding a place to stay here in the summer isn't always easy. You might have to wait in line for the best places to visit. This region is considered one of those rare spots where blue and green blend seamlessly. As you can see in the picture, when you step onto the beach, you're greeted with pristine white sand. The calm, deep blue sea water seems hidden within nature.
I took the above photo on April 21, 2024. During the same months, I traveled to the Aegean and Mediterranean regions. The above photo was taken in the Manavgat district of Antalya, near a natural wonder called Beşkonaklar. Rafting takes place between two steep cliffs, in turquoise waters formed by natural springs. Nature lovers who enjoy the marera can also enjoy zipline, crossing the water between two cliffs. I had come here long ago for rafting, but on this trip, I came to see the hiking trails, forested areas, ancient cities, and fish restaurants I hadn't yet explored around the canyon.
This was the road I'd taken to search for an ancient city nearby. Locals had told me there was one in the area called Selge. I began climbing towards evening. But Selge is so far away that I was running low on gas for the return trip, and I didn't want to drive back in the dark on these steep roads. So, I left the area without going too far, capturing a magnificent view of Manavgat and Beşkonak at the top.
In the scorching heat of 2024, I loved taking a boat tour in Kaş, a district of Antalya I visit every summer. Yacht tours, one of the best activities to do when you arrive in Kaş, depart from Kaş Harbor at 9:30 AM. The first stop on this tour is İnönü Bay, where there's a 20-minute swimming break. The area in the picture below is Simena (Kaleköy), where boat tours offer an hour of free time. Boat tours are the only way to get there. There's a local community living here, and their sole source of income is tourism. The locals, scattered around the island, provide accommodation and food and drink to visitors. At the very top of the island stands a historic castle dating back to the Roman and Byzantine periods. After disembarking, I climbed up to the castle during an hour's break. As I climbed up to the castle, I was struck by the handcrafted ornaments of the locals. Before reaching the castle, there's a small ice cream shop perched on the rocks. You should definitely try an ice cream here.
Now, let's head to a beautiful lake near Antalya during the autumn months. Every time I visit, I'm reminded of my childhood memories. In this area called Karacaören Lake, a wonderful breakfast is often served at the Gölbaşı Restaurant, located right on the lake's edge. You feel like you're actually in the lake while having breakfast. When I was little, when school holidays ended, the whole family would go to the village and stay there for two months. We had many friends who were our peers in the village. Our village was among the most beautiful in Bartın. In one section, small streams flowed through a row of poplar trees. The stream water filtered through boulders and weeds, flowing into the sea. We used to swim in this stream with our village friends. We would climb onto the rocks and jump into the water. One of our friends from the village even had a minor accident while jumping off the rocks. I find this stream in our village similar to the lake here, due to the color of the water and the surrounding greenery.
I'd like to tell you about my last trip to Güver Cliff, where I barely found my way back. I set out at two o'clock on a Sunday, when the sky hesitated to release its rain. Although Güver Cliff is about half an hour from Antalya's city center, you lose a lot of time in traffic. There are two separate roads leading to Güver Cliff. You can drive to a certain point on either of these roads. The cliff is a deep chasm formed between two opposing cliffs. A canyon runs along the cliff's edge. Especially in winter, the natural canyon water, filtering through the vegetation and flowing through the rocks, flows into the Mediterranean. The reason I didn't lose my way was because I took the forested area opposite the public road on the right side of the cliff. Naturally, I tried to make my own way through a forest with no paths. The canyon, dense with travertine cliffs, was dense with cliffs. Besides the magnificent view of Güver Cliff, it also stands out with its diverse tree species. When you walk in this area, you will be amazed by the beautiful scents of nature.
