Some colleagues, namely @zirky, expressed interest in whether I still paint. Well — yes, I do.
Let me write a bit about myself: I have a technical background, spending a third of my professional life as a technician and two-thirds as an IT guy. This probably reflects that I tend to think quite rationally. Maybe that’s why I’ve recently found myself drawn to the world of the irrational and the fantastical.
A strange, almost transcendent bird and a flower with eyes? What goes through the mind of someone who paints something like that?
They say a horse is a foal only once, and a person is a child twice. We tell children stories and consider that perfectly normal. And now, it’s coming back to me.
On the bright side, it could be worse. I could have painted teeth instead of eyes on the flowers. Or, let's not dwell on what other body parts might pop into my head.
Nonetheless, I haven’t completely detached from reality. I’m currently working on a painting of a girl on a beach holding a glass of wine. The only thing holding me back from finishing it is her hand. I just can't get it right — either it's too thin, too thick, too disproportionate, or just too weird. Would you believe that painting a hand is so challenging?
I’m writing this around eleven at night and starting to feel a bit gloomy. I might put down the brush and focus on literature instead. But first, I'll finish publishing this article and then get some sleep. 😊
Někteří kolegové, jmenovitě @zirky, projevili zájem, jestli pořád ještě maluju. Inu ‒ ano.
Napíšu něco o sobě: Mám technické vzdělání, třetinu profesního života jsem dělal technika a dvě třetiny ajťáka. Možná i toto svědčí o tom, že jsem velice racionálně uvažující člověk. A možná právě proto mě v poslední době začíná bavit svět iracionální až fantaskní.
Divný až transcendentní pták a květina s očima? Co se asi honí v hlavě člověku, co namaluje něco takového?
Říká se, že kůň je jednou hříbětem, člověk dvakrát dítětem. A dětem říkáme pohádky a považujeme to za normální. A teď se mi to vrací.
Na druhou stranu, mohlo to být horší. Mohl jsem květinám místo očí namalovat zuby. Nebo třeba… raději nedomýšlet, jaké tělesné orgány by se mi mohly honit hlavou.
Nicméně, od reality jsem se úplně neodpoutal. Zrovna mám rozdělaný obraz, na kterém je dívka na mořském břehu, ana drží číši vína. A jediné, co mi brání v jeho dokončení, je její ruka. Pořád se mi to nedaří trefit ‒ buď je příliš tenká, příliš tlustá, příliš neproporcionální, příliš divná. Věřili byste, že je těžké namalovat ruku?
Píšu to cca v jedenáct večer a jdou na mě chmury. Asi nechám malování za začnu se věnovat literatuře. V prvé řadě ale dokončím publikaci tohoto článku a půjdu se na to vyspat 😊
