The local fire department was celebrating its 150th anniversary, and to mark the occasion, several demonstrations were set up in the town square.
The previous article showcased how firefighters can quickly and efficiently cut apart a vehicle to rescue its occupants. And once you've got a car dismantled, what's the next logical step?
Burn it down!
Firefighters are experts at everything they do. They know how to both start and extinguish fires.
One demonstration couldn't be missed that always gets the crowd excited. What happens when the oil in your kitchen pan catches fire and someone tries to put it out with water?

Seriously, do NOT try this at home.
Demonstrating a rescue from a high-rise building using an emergency escape slide. In the photo, it's extended to about fifteen meters, but it can reach up to forty-five. I asked if they'd take me as a volunteer for the demonstration, but they politely declined. So I was left to just watch.
Heroes don't wear capes. Some wear helmets, fireproof suits, and breathing apparatus. I wish for all of us to avoid accidents and only encounter them during demonstrations like these.
