115000 EUR is actually only 63000 EUR
A smart profile from Bulgaria was offered a job in Belgium, for a total wage of 115000 EUR. And he had extras like a company car, health insurance, etcetera…
Seems like a pretty good deal for a young ambitious guy. But eventually he didn’t take it. Because the employer wasn’t quite honest about the real net pay. The 115000 EUR was taxes and social security payments included. So in reality he would only get paid 63000 EUR net wages. That’s 45 % loss to the government.
The person just did not find this offer appealing enough. And I get him. I bet Belgium has lost a lot of great profiles due to this immense taxation on labour! It seems like working gets punished.
