When I first saw this movie on my Netflix I was so tempted to watch it but I resisted it, then it became so popular that people were talking about how interesting it was then I decided to try it out.

From the very beginning, it’s not just about these girls being idols, you can literally tell they’re carrying some big secret. Imagine being in a K-pop group, practicing dance routines, smiling for the cameras, and then after rehearsals, you’re sneaking into alleys at night with glowing weapons to fight actual demons. That was the whole vibe.

One of the first scenes that really caught me was when the girls were backstage after a big performance. The lights were still fading, fans screaming, confetti everywhere, but instead of basking in the glory, one of them spotted a shadow moving weirdly in the crowd. At first I thought, okay maybe it’s just suspense buildup, but no—next thing, her eyes glow faintly, and she just whispers to the others. Boom, they’re already on alert, sneaking out through a backdoor while still in their glittering stage costumes. That mix of glam and danger made me laugh but also made my heart race—like, imagine idols suddenly switching into hunters in the middle of their own concert.

Then the museum scene: oh my God. They're supposed to be shooting some high budget music video in this old traditional museum with all these priceless relics. But demons do like the drama. While they're dancing and filming, one of the artifacts literally opens up and this huge demon, whatever you want to call it, a nine-tail fox spirit comes out of it. Everything goes for shit-the director thinks it's some kind of trick, people are screaming on the crew, but the girls drop the choreography and go straight into combat mode.

Their genius lay in using the movements of their dances as part of their fighting style. Like, she would twirl around, but in the middle of the twirl she takes a glowing staff and shoves it in the demon's eye. I literally stood there for a second and thought, "Why can't my life be this exciting?" and simultaneously, "God forbid I fight demons in high heels."

The big twist, however, came later on when it turned out that not all demons were evil. I particularly liked the scene in which the shy girl of the group discovers a demon child hiding in the ruins after the fight. She doesn't attack, just the little trembling creature. That softened me, because until that point I had always seen the demons as faceless bad guys. But the way she comforted it actually brought on tears. Like, it reminded me how we are sometimes quick to condemn everything as terrible without knowing the story.

And then came the betrayal. You know that every good story has that one big twist at the end? Their manager, who was constantly pressureing them about diet, rehearsal times, contracts, was actually working with the demons the whole time. When the truth came out I was betrayed myself - I trusted this guy to be that annoying but reliable uncle character. Basically he was feeding the demons and timing their battles with their public lives. That reveal was a game changer for me: I started to think about the fact that even in real life the people closest to us are the ones who drain us the most at times.

The final showdown? It was massive. They had to perform in this massive concert for the world, and in the middle of the performance the biggest demon lord showed up right in the arena. People thought it was some expensive stage trick to entertain the crowd, cheering louder as the girls fought for their lives. I held my breath throughout the entire time. The way their voices coordinated with one another, the movements of their dances, and the combat - it was almost like the music itself was a weapon. When they reached that last high note in unison and all their energy exploded the demon into shards of light, I literally applauded at my screen. It was the sort of thing that made me feel empowered like good teamwork and genuine human connection really can beat any monster, literal or emotional.
