The true definition of fear in Resident Evil 4 [ENG - ESP]

Today there’s a theme in the Ready Player Hive program, and I decided to participate with a small post. The theme is: ## What is your best and worst character from horror video games? As always, I don’t know if it’s because of age or simply because I haven’t played many horror games lately, but it was hard for me to think of an enemy that I truly hated as a kid for being too terrifying, and maybe also for having some annoying mechanic that disturbed me even more.  The first thing that came to my mind was Dino Crisis. I have very bad memories of that game, but without a doubt, it’s one of the ones that disturbed me the most and drove me crazy as a child. Not only because it was quite sinister, but also because it involved dinosaurs—creatures I loved back then. I remember spending time drawing dinosaurs and believing that the little lizards walking around were today’s dinosaurs, but that game made me hate something I loved because of the scares it gave me. I’d like to talk more deeply about what really scared me, but I don’t have an exact memory, I just know that everything in that game terrified me, even more than Resident Evil.  My mother used to accompany me when playing Resident Evil because of how scared I got, even Silent Hill, which made me crap my pants, but I remember playing Dino Crisis alone, and it wasn’t a pleasant feeling, though somehow I enjoyed it (terror runs in my blood). Later, Resident Evil would be my nightmare in its fourth installment, with the famous “Regenerators.” Maybe some of you will also talk about them in this theme, since they turned out to be a real nightmare for many. I don’t remember exactly what I did to kill them, but I do remember clearly being stuck right when they appeared. I didn’t know how to face them, and later, after suffering quite a bit, I finally figured it out.  I would’ve loved to have more ideas or memories of characters or enemies from horror games to write about, but the only one I really remembered was that one. When I played Resident Evil 4, I wasn’t such a kid anymore, and well, RE4 isn’t a game that disturbed me that much, since the action and all the things you could do to enemies made you feel unstoppable many times, and that took away any fear.  Buuut, the Regenerators really made me tense on more than one occasion, and not knowing what to do to kill them was horrible. I just wanted to get them out of my sight to move on in the game and escape that tension. Do you remember any horrible character that gave you nightmares in a video game? Let me know in the comments. 𝙶𝙶!|  # Español  Hoy hay temática en el programa Ready Player Hive y decidí participar con un pequeño post. La temática es: ## ¿Cuál es tu mejor y peor personaje de los videojuegos de terror? Como siempre, no sé si es por la vejez o porque simplemente no he jugado muchos juegos de terror últimamente, pero me costó pensar en algún enemigo que de verdad haya odiado de niño por ser demasiado terrorífico y tal vez también por tener alguna mecánica molesta que me perturbara aún más.  Lo primero que se me vino a la mente fue Dino Crisis. Tengo muy malos recuerdos de ese juego, pero sin duda es uno de los que más me perturbó y me sacó de mis casillas de niño. No solo por ser bastante siniestro, sino porque involucraba dinosaurios, criaturas que yo amaba en ese entonces. Recuerdo que pasaba dibujando dinosaurios y creía que las pequeñas lagartijas que caminaban por ahí eran los dinosaurios de ahora, pero ese juego me hizo odiar algo que amaba por los sustos que me dio. Me gustaría hablar más a fondo de lo que realmente me asustaba, pero no tengo un recuerdo exacto, solo sé que todo en ese juego me aterraba, incluso más que los Resident Evil.  Mi madre me acompañaba a jugar los Resident Evil por el miedo que me daban, incluso Silent Hill, que hacía que me cagase en los pantalones, pero recuerdo jugar Dino Crisis solo y no era algo agradable de sentir, aunque de alguna forma lo disfrutaba(el terror está en mi sangre). Más tarde Resident Evil sería mi terror en su cuarta entrega, con los famosos “Regeneradores”. No recuerdo exactamente qué hice para matarlos, pero sí tengo muy claro haberme quedado atascado justo cuando aparecieron. No sabía cómo enfrentarlos, y más tarde después de sufrir bastante por fin lo descubrí.  Me hubiese encantado tener más ideas o recuerdos de personajes o enemigos de los videojuegos de terror para escribir sobre ellos, pero el único que realmente recordé fue ese. Cuando jugué Resident Evil 4 ya no era tan niño y bueno, RE4 no es un juego que me perturbase tanto, ya que la acción y todas las cosas que podías hacerles a los enemigos te hacían sentir imparable muchas veces y eso te quitaba cualquier miedo.  Peeero, los Regeneradores de verdad me pusieron tenso en más de una ocasión y no saber qué hacer para matarlos era horrible, yo solo quería quitarlos de mi vista para avanzar en el juego y salir de esa tensión. ¿Tú recuerdas algún personaje horrible que te haya causado pesadillas en un videojuego?
