A porcelain exhibition. This was my first time seeing an exhibition of this type. I must admit that the quantity and quality of the exhibits made a huge impression on me. Knowing that some of them are hundreds of years old, have traveled almost all over the world, graced tables in various ancient lands, and were used by the rulers of the time, is the most impressive. Time and the silent history contained in these small wonders of human hands are of the highest value to me. That's why I enjoy visiting old castles, palaces, churches, and anything that looked similar or the same centuries ago but served people whose memories have often been blurred by time. I mention this because I know not everyone feels the same way. More than once, my friends, with whom I've visited or admired something, have expressed the exact opposite opinion, saying, "It has no value to me because it can't be used today."
Wystawa porcelany. Pierwszy raz byłem oglądać tego typu wystawę. Muszę przyznać, że ilość i jakość eksponatów zrobiła na mnie ogromne wrażenie. Świadomość, że niektóre z nich mają setki lat, wędrowały po niemalże całym świecie, zdobiła stoły w przeróżnych starodawnych krainach i korzystali z nich władcy ówczesnego świata, robi na mnie największe wrażenie. Czas i niema historia zawarta w tych małych cudach ludzkiej ręki mają dla mnie wartość najwyższą. Dlatego lubię, zwiedzać stare zamki, pałace, kościoły i wszystko, co wieki temu wyglądało podobnie lub tak samo, ale służyło ludziom, o których często nawet pamięć została rozmyta przez czas. Wspominam o tym, ponieważ wiem, że nie każdy tak ma. Nieraz zdarzało mi się, że moi znajomi, z którymi coś zwiedzałem lub oglądałem i się zachwycałem mieli, zdanie dokładnie przeciwne, mówiąc - nie ma to dla mnie żadnej wartości, bo nie można tego używać obecnie.
The exhibition featured over 100 pieces. This was no accident. The pieces came from the world's most important collection of 18th-century mining porcelain. The exhibition of "white gold"—as porcelain was once called—transports visitors to the fascinating world of mountain landscapes, where ores are mined, new deposits are searched for with a dowsing rod, officials supervise diggers, and elegant ladies stroll by and merchants fiercely haggle over goods. The timeless appearance and uniqueness of the porcelain encouraged King Augustus the Strong to establish production in Meissen over 300 years ago.
Na wystawie było zaprezentowanych ponad 100 egzemplarzy. Nie była to przypadkowa wystawa. Egzemplarze pochodziły z najważniejszej na świecie kolekcji porcelany górniczej z XVIII wieku. Wystawa "białego złota" - ponieważ tak kiedyś była nazywana porcelana - przenosi w fascynujący świat górskich krajobrazów, gdzie wydobywa się rudy, poszukuje nowych złóż za pomocą różdżki, urzędnik nadzoruje pracę kopaczy, a jednocześnie można dostrzec spacerujące eleganckie damy i kupców zażarcie targujących się o towary. Ponadczasowy wygląd i wyjątkowość porcelany zachęciła ponad 300 lat temu króla Augusta mocnego do rozpoczęcia produkcji w Miśni.
The exhibition featured porcelain sculptures, painted and gilded tableware, as well as jewelry boxes, snuff boxes, pill boxes, and needle cases. Some of these beautiful pieces date back to around 1700, the earliest development of porcelain in Europe. Everything was meticulously crafted. The exhibition featured many unique 18th-century pieces, known only in a single copy.
Na wystawie można było zobaczyć zarówno porcelanowe rzeźby, malowaną i złoconą zastawę stołową jak również opakowania na biżuterię, puzderka na tabakę, tabletki czy igły. Część z tych pięknych eksponatów jest datowana na lata ok 1700, są to najwcześniejsze początki rozwoju porcelany w Europie. Wszystko dopracowane w najmniejszych szczegółach. Wystawa prezentowała sporo unikatów z XVIII wieku, znanych tylko w jednym egzemplarzu.
