Jastarnia, I like to be here. I like to come back here. Something attracts me like a magnet to this place, and when I am already left, I don't want to. I am lucky that the weather at the Polish sea accompanies me almost every time, those who travel to the Polish sea know perfectly well that it is not so obvious.
Jastarnia is a picturesque town located on the Hel Peninsula and one of the most charming places on the Polish coast. Surrounded by the waters of the Puck Bay on the one hand, it attracts tourists with its unique atmosphere, rich history and various attractions.
I think Jastarnia is an ideal place for holiday rest. My favorite advantage is the ability to spend time over two completely extreme waters, although it is still the same great water - the Baltic Sea. Usually, on the one hand, i.e. on the bay, the water is calm, without large waves, it is shallowly, which is why safe for small children, people who are not swimming or for those who learn to swim on windsurfing and katesurfing. There are plenty of them here on sunny days, which will be seen in the pictures below. Their colorful sails, boards and kites are beautifully decorated with the sinus landscape.
Jastarnia, although today known primarily as a tourist resort, has a deeply rooted story related to fisheries and Kashubian culture. The name of the place probably comes from the Kashubian word "Jaster", meaning amber - the treasure of the Baltic, which for centuries attracted seekers to these areas. In the past, Jastarnia was a small fishing settlement, and the inhabitants remained mainly from fishing and trade.
To this day, in the city you can admire the traces of this tradition, for example in the form of historic fishing huts or the fishing museum, which is located in nearby Hel, but talks about the whole region. The Kaszubian heritage is visible in language, customs and local cuisine.
Walking around Jastarnia, you can hear Kashubian conversations, and try traditional dishes such as fish dumplings or fish soup in restaurants. Every year in the summer season there are festivals and cultural events that celebrate Kashub folklore, attracting both residents and tourists.

Jastarnia, lubię tu być. Lubię tu wracać. Coś przyciąga mnie jak magnes do tego miejsca, a kiedy już jestem wyjeżdżać się nie chce. Mam to szczęście, że pogoda nad polskim morzem towarzyszy mi praktycznie za każdym razem, ci, którzy podróżują nad polskie morze wiedzą doskonale, że nie jest to takie oczywiste.
Jastarnia to malownicza miejscowość położona na Półwyspie Helskim i jedno z najbardziej urokliwych miejsc na polskim wybrzeżu. Otoczona z jednej strony wodami Zatoki Puckiej, a z drugiej Bałtykiem, przyciąga turystów swoim wyjątkowym klimatem, bogatą historią oraz różnorodnymi atrakcjami.
Uważam, że Jastarnia jest idealnym miejscem na wakacyjny wypoczynek. Moim ulubionym atutem jest możliwość spedzania czasu nad dwoma całkowicie skrajnymi wodam, mimo, że to wciąż ta sama wielka woda - morze Bałtyckie. Przeważnie z jednej strony, czyli nad zatoką woda jest spokojna, bez dużych fal, jest płytko co za tym idzie bezpiecznie dla malych dzieci, ludzi nieumiejących pływać bądź dla tych, którzy uczą się pływać na windsurfingu i katesurfingu. W słoneczne dni jest ich tutaj mnóstwo, co bedzie widać na ponizszych zdjęciach. Ich kolorowe żagle, deski i latawce pieknie zdobią krajobraz zatoki.
Jastarnia, choć dziś znana przede wszystkim jako kurort turystyczny, ma głęboko zakorzenioną historię związaną z rybołówstwem i kulturą kaszubską. Nazwa miejscowości pochodzi prawdopodobnie od kaszubskiego słowa „jaster”, oznaczającego bursztyn – skarb Bałtyku, który od wieków przyciągał na te tereny poszukiwaczy. W przeszłości Jastarnia była niewielką osadą rybacką, a mieszkańcy utrzymywali się głównie z połowu ryb i handlu.
Do dziś w mieście można podziwiać ślady tej tradycji, na przykład w postaci zabytkowych chat rybackich czy Muzeum Rybołówstwa, które znajduje się w pobliskim Helu, ale opowiada o całym regionie.Kaszubskie dziedzictwo jest widoczne w języku, zwyczajach i lokalnej kuchni.
Spacerując po Jastarni, można usłyszeć kaszubskie rozmowy, a w restauracjach spróbować tradycyjnych potraw, takich jak pierogi z rybą czy zupa rybna. Co roku w sezonie letnim odbywają się tu festiwale i wydarzenia kulturalne, które celebrują folklor Kaszub, przyciągając zarówno mieszkańców, jak i turystów.
Jastarnia to miejsce, które urzeka swoim położeniem i atmosferą. Niezależnie od tego, czy jesteś miłośnikiem sportów wodnych, czy po prostu szukasz miejsca na relaks nad morzem zarówno jedno i drugie można tu znaleźć.
