Altcoin Season: Yes, or No? New Hive Curation Tool, Crypto Adoption, etc. .:. Recap of Hive Humpday Hangout SE #16 (July 2, 2025)

After the 3-week break, the #HHHLive show came back online, to the Ecency Discord last Wednesday! Around a dozen Hivians came to the show to hang out and to have fun... We had the "freestyle" show format this week, and we went through many topics... I have tried to keep it in the HIVE niche, but we did move off-topic a few times... hehehehehe...

As these "special edition" shows aren't recorded, I will try to share with you at least a glimpse of the topics that we discussed... Not many things happened in the cryptosphere, but despite that, participants were open for fun, and many talks went in a joking direction... Which is fine... We had some short discussions, some long discussions, and in the end, the show was almost 2 hours long! 😱

Let me run through the topics... As I like to play some music before the show, the first topic was about DJ-ing and mix tapes... @felixxx and @jza shared their preferences about it, and later in the show, these two guys were sharing the mic with me most of the time...

The second, obvious topic was hot weather... We had an early summer heat wave in Spain, and it's very hard to focus or do anything without the A/C... We shared some stories of how to "survive" these times, and struggles that our pets have too, in this heat...

Will there be altcoin season this year? That was the next topic that we touched... Lately, Bitcoin is taking all the highlight and gives no space to altcoins to shine... If that continues, the altcoin season is in serious question... Also, the participants of the show agreed that we could view crypto another way around... It's not that crypto is going up, it's more that fiat is melting!

All that led to another important topic... Are the products and services cheaper than they were in the past? Do we have inflation or deflation? Do products have better quality today than they did in the past? I wrote a post about real estate two days ago, and it was partly inspired by the talk in the #HHHLive show!

Along with the chat in voice, we had a parallel chat in the written channel in Discord about HP printers... There were some misunderstandings (on purpose, joking) about HP printers as some of them thought there were HivePower printers... 😂

I have no idea how we moved into the SmartTV discussion from there, but we did... 😂 DO they make sense or not, Stremio platform, IPTV service platforms, hotel TVs, and similar stuff...

But, we did have a talk about HIVE again... @friendlymoose was kind to share the new curation tool that was developed thanks to his efforts and donations... It's not a tool that ONLY curators can use, it is a search/filtering tool that anyone can use...

In the announcement post, @davideownzall had a question for the audience.

What you want to achieve with hive?

I did forward the question to participants, but as we were in the "funny mood", most answers didn't have a serious note... (sorry about that) @jza mentioned how his idea was to blog about his personal stuff and to have it written in the blockchain forever... No worries about renewing a domain name, hosting, updating scripts, etc With HIVE, it's much easier to do it...

I shared my view on this question and how my answer changed through time... At the beginning, I had an idea of earning money with HIVE, and maybe living from that, but nowadays, my goal is to have fun, to make friends, and to help out others by sharing my life experience... Sometimes, it can help...

Closer to the end of the show, we talked about crypto adoption, exchanging HBD to other stablecoins, e-commerce, and the possibility that we are all wrong regarding crypto... Maybe we are living in a bubble and crypto isn't that "great" as we think?

I have probably skipped some topics as we were jumping from one to another fast... All in all, we had an interesting show with many dynamics... When there is no one topic, this happens a lot... 😃
