Hive Engine Tokens, Supporting Projects, Upvoting Routines, etc. .:. Recap of Hive Humpday Hangout SE #17 (August 27, 2025)

I'm taking the responsibility of low(er) attendance in the last few #HHHLive shows, but I would say that the summer takes a bit of credit too... Speaking from my own perspective, I'd rather spend time outside, on the beach, than sweating inside the hot house in front of the computer... On that other side, the crypto markets are pretty boring lately, HIVE is hovering around those 20 cents for ages (not really ages, but it looks like that), and all that makes people sleepy and inactive... As I said, I wasn't consistent with running the show every single week, so that is probably one of the main factors for low attendance...

All in all, we had a great Special Edition show this Wednesday, with a small, but valuable group of people in the Ecency Discord! It was great to see that everyone participated, and we went through many different topics... When you have people who want to add value to others and to help out, the discussion is always fruitful, constructive, and positive! That was exactly the case in this show!

As these Special Edition shows are not recorded, I will try to write a bit about how it was and what we were talking about in a written form... As we had 9 people in total, we were fast, sharing opinions, ideas, and answers on the mic and in the chat at the same time...

The first topic was Hive-Engine tokens, which were suggested by Mick (@stresskiller), so we went into a long discussion about them... A bit of history of certain tokens, our favorite tokens, the reasons why we like them, etc. Now, when I think about it, we mentioned plenty of different tokens and projects that we have on HIVE... The usual suspects like LEO, SPS, WORKERBEE, BEE, to some not that usual like LEN, LENM, ZING, POB, PIMP, DUO...

The second topic that was up was suggested by @friendlymoose, where he wanted more feedback on his idea of creating a space (or a way) to help out smaller HIVE projects to get more funding, more exposure... The general idea is to spread the word about some cool projects that we have, but still, many people don't know about them... We had that example many times in the show, helping out each other with information on certain tokens and projects, who is behind them, where to find more info, etc.

As we were talking about "activating" more Hivians, we talked about different cohorts that we have, whales, orcas, dolphins, that could have more influence on the chain, and to balance out the things more... Sometimes it looks like whales are deciding about everything on HIVE, but the (Hive) power of Orcas and Dolphins could be a counter-balance! The power is there, it's only waiting to be used!

Speaking of balance, we also discussed upvoting and downvoting, upvoting routings, manual and automatic curation, and many other topics connected with this stuff... Closer to the end of the show, we went off-topic and spoke about the heat wave... 😃 I was curious to hear from others what temperature they set on the air conditioner... I have to admit that I was very surprised by some of the answers... 😃
