Hello, Hivers! It's been a while I hope that you did not forget me. How are you? I hope you are doing well.
That's right, my mom had me when she was 38 years old. My mother was the second child out of her five siblings, so she began working as soon as she finished from high school to help support the family. Because of this, she never considered starting a family and instead waited for her siblings to graduate. It may sound gloomy, but my mom truly enjoys her work. She worked for a Japanese corporation as a manager in the textile sector. She traveled to several locations for business, was pampered and cherished by her female employer, and even developed friends with her. My mom eventually discovered my dad and made the decision to settle down.

However, due to family conflict, my mom and dad got separated. When my mom and dad first separated, my sister and I moved to the province to live with my grandma, which is where I'm currently staying because my mom still has a job in the city. After 3 years, my mom quit her stable job just to take care of us. Since then, my mom is the only person I can lean on. She's not just my mom but my hero.

Fast-forward to today, it's my mom's day. I don't really know how to buy gift for her without her noticing them, since she basically drive and pick me up to wherever I'm going. Because of that, I decided to accompany my mom on her day to go to church to pray. Surprisingly when we arrived, we met some of her friends and even talk a lot of things which makes her happy. (I didn't get a picture thought since it's in appropriate to take it with their consent.)

Later, I suddenly got an idea to buy a cake without letting her know I brought some money with me just in case. Since my uncle and aunts were all gathered up, she can't say no, right? I thought. So we arrived at Goldilocks in Bogo City to let her pick something she might like, though it didn't go as planned, and I ended up choosing the cake instead. However, considering the fact that she does not like sweets and prefers coffee more, I eventually choose a coffee-themed cake instead. But the real challenge is when you arrive at the counter. She really doesn't want me to pay for the cake, but I retorted and said it's her birthday, so I want to buy the cake for her. Though she's really happy and smiling nonstop, out of the blue, she suddenly asked me where I got the money. I told her it was the crochet project and snacks I sold at school (it's true, by the way). In the end, we just split the bill since she insisted.

When we came back home, my aunt's already cooking so I immediately help preparing for the stuff she need. Not gonna lie her food is the best thing I ever taste. Though this celebration is not that fancy but it's the thought that counts. For us, family gathering is already a precious gift we could ask for.

That's why whenever they came on weekends, I cancel my plans just to bond with them with them. I'm a family oriented type of person so I rather spend my time with them. I don't know if they understand it but I'm scared that someday they're not around, at least the bonds and different memories I have with them will remain.
