The weekend is the best time for me to release my stress and let it go. I have several ways of doing that, though of course I can’t do them all the time. Instead, I manage my stress by trying different activities each week. Doing the same thing repeatedly would feel boring, almost like being stuck in a routine.
Now that I think about it, I believe one of the main reasons we feel stressed at work is because everything eventually becomes routine. To make it less stressful, it helps to introduce some randomness into what we do. Of course, adding randomness isn’t always easy, because everything still needs to be considered carefully. But this is something we can develop over time. With experience, it becomes more natural, almost like second nature.
It may not be easy to stay in control every time you try, but that’s okay. As you keep practicing, it will gradually become easier. I strongly believe that everything can be learned, as long as we are determined to make it happen. If you can imagine it, you should be able to put it into action. It doesn’t always require a huge amount of energy—what really matters is consistency. As long as you have the time and make a steady effort, eventually you’ll reach the point where it happens naturally.
So if you find yourself stuck at something then find a way to deviate for a moment and make it less of a routine. And as you do then you will discover that things will turn to your favor and you will feel better afterwards.
