UNHEALTHY EXCUSES

I can't remember the last time I felt like this. It was such a rush. So it's been more than 18 months since I did anything exercise related and I've been quite unhappy about it. However with everything that involves work, the mind of a procrastinator has its way of formulating reasons to almost certainly extend the deadline. ![img_0.2987302562285256.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmdyFDCQDhEz34a4bSgetFGrs9ZF7bCZA4ebVUB7Vrfs4V/img_0.2987302562285256.jpg) [source](https://pixabay.com/images/id-4782721/) Prior to the last 18 months, I would say I had a regimented routine of exercises. Wake up 5am, jog for about an hour thirty, do some aerobics – jumping jacks, sit-ups, push-ups and the likes – take my bath and head straight to work lighter than the previous day. I won't say I particularly liked exercising, but I liked how I felt after. The sense of achievement, the weightless feeling, the thought of a healthier body all made me forgo the pains of waking up very early to expend energy. Like I said I was exercising regularly before the last 18 months and I think my running boots got bad and somehow I never got around to replacing them. I always had this thought in my head telling me not to jog until I buy the perfect boots that would make running a little more effortless and guess what, I never bought them. ![img_0.27496967710221315.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmcSCHnPh8nyriYUiLXXmPR2GX5togn4Wn9obVrDWjxce5/img_0.27496967710221315.jpg) [source](https://pixabay.com/images/id-1470061/) I love food and I have a humongous appetite. Now imagine eating the way I do and not exercising for almost 2 years. *Sighs* I gradually started replacing my clothes instead of the running boots. I had replaced my younger brother, who had been overweight and had somehow viciously exercised to be physically fit in less than 6 months. I was the one getting to his former “glory”. Hahahaha The constant “what have you been eating” or “you’ve begun eating so much money” or “where is your weight getting to”, always made me feel worse but the hold of the procrastinator in me was far stronger than any comments from people and so I continued being unhealthy and fairly unhappy. Upon getting on Hive, I've try been positively influenced by the posts of @steevc and @liftslikealady who constantly write on their workout routines. @steevc has his runs while @liftslikealady has her runs and also hits the gym for some cardio. Their posts have been an encouragement and so yesterday I inquired about my brother’s workout routine which pushed me over the cliff...so to speak. ![img_0.4016283975775787.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmdSziqsm9FhhicX8yuvwK4RfFcSgHKrrg4dt65MFoefmn/img_0.4016283975775787.jpg) ![img_0.2376693254567207.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmd6YFsw9yvwSEQVre727YuWa11qgHwLhngQcWToKAvefu/img_0.2376693254567207.jpg) This morning I jogged a good enough distance that many would be proud of after 18 months. I'll tomorrow again. If I do, I'll tell you guys about it. Fingers crossed.

A SNAP FOR YOU
