Iniciativa Juntos a enfrentar la adversidad/ La tragedia y la solidaridad (Esp/Eng)

 Hoy se cumplen 38 años de la llamada "La tragedia de El Limón", cuando los ríos de la montaña Azul, el parque nacional Henry Pittier, en el estado Aragua, crecidos por las fuertes y continuas lluvias, arrasaron con todo a su paso. El 6 de septiembre de 1987,  el agua, con su fortaleza indetenible, dejó una huella desgarrada que aún perdura en la ladera de la montaña y otra imborrable  en el corazón de los venezolanos y sobre todo en las personas que en ese instante de tiempo se encontraron expuestas a la tragedia. ***  *** Las causas de esta tragedia fueron analizadas por expertos, y los que hemos visto los incendios forestales año tras año sabemos que también la huella del hombre es un factor importante. Pero hay otros factores también humanos que pueden mitigar las consecuencias terribles de estos fenómenos naturales. Viví de cerca los días siguientes a este evento de la naturaleza que fue una  catástrofe por el número de víctimas y daños. Afectó no solo a las personas que venían por la carretera, sino a todo el Municipio Mario Briceño Iragorri. Yo estaba residenciada en Caña de Azúcar, pero había vivido muchos años en El Limón mientras estudiaba y aunque habia ocurrido desbordes de quebradas e inundaciones en ese tiempo no me imagine que esta tragedia ocurriera. Había viajado el fin de semana a mi casa en Caracas, donde me enteré de lo ocurrido. Cuando regresé, sentí mucha tristeza al ver en lo que se había transformado parte de esta pequeña localidad y escuchando los testimonios de los vecinos y amigos que se vieron afectados. Los que perdieron a sus familiares y sus pertenencias, pero que gracias a Dios estaban vivos. Pero dentro de esta gran conmoción apareció como una luz de esperanza *la solidaridad*, ese sentimiento colectivo de ayudar al prójimo. **Esa conciencia que se despierta al sentir el sufrimiento, porque estamos conectados a través de nuestras almas.** ***  [fuente](https://pixabay.com/es/photos/mano-palma-mujer-ayuda-humano-r%C3%ADo-4460054/) *** Fueron días de rescate tanto en la montaña como en los centros poblados, hasta que ya no hubo más que hacer, sino reconstruir las vidas y los lugares afectados. Fueron muchas las acciones que rápidamente se pusieron en marcha para ayudar, como he visto que ocurre donde hay dolor humano y el de otras especies animales que también sufren. Dentro de tantas noticias de violencia y odio, esto nos enseña que la vida es un bien muy valioso y que está en nosotros protegerla. Cada una de las personas conmovidas por el dolor ayudó de diferentes maneras. En esos momentos cada aporte fue importante.  Y hoy el parque "Los Apamates", a la entrada del Limón, donde se depositó en una hondonada todo lo que arrastró el agua, sirve de recordatorio de lo que la naturaleza puede ocasionar y de la fortaleza y solidaridad del hombre ante esta. ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ En días pasados, @santamorillo, nuestra compañera de Hive, se vio afectada por las inundaciones que se produjeron en el lugar donde vive en el estado Apure, Venezuela y necesita de esa solidaridad que nos hace mejores personas. On September 6, 1987, the water, with its unstoppable strength, left an indelible mark that still remains on the mountainside and another indelible mark in the hearts of Venezuelans and especially in the hearts of the people who were exposed to the tragedy at that moment in time. When I returned, I felt very sad to see what had become of this small town and hearing the testimonies of the people who had been affected by the flooding. That conscience that awakens when we feel suffering, because we are connected through our souls. There were days of rescue both in the mountains and in the towns, until there was nothing more to do but to rebuild the lives and places affected. There were many actions that were quickly put in place to help, as I have seen happen where there is human pain and that of other animal species that also suffer. In the midst of so much news of violence and hatred, this teaches us that life is a very valuable asset and that it is up to us to protect it. Each one of the people touched by the pain helped in different ways.
