One thing that delights me is the different birds calling from the trees.
Living right in the Boreal forest I get to hear a wide variety of birds for it is the breeding grounds for many of the songbirds.
I have a few samples to share with you...
Pair of Evening Grosbeaks Catching Some Sun on Poplar Tree
It's just been the last few weeks when we've had a multitude of grosbeaks singing from the trees and visiting our bird feeder. They would often be the first birds I hear in the morning as a flock comes to sit in the tree tops. Listen to their calls...

Another group of birds that have only recently arrived is the colorful purple finches with a more delicate call then the grosbeaks.
Below is the lovely red male purple finch which is much more colorful than the female which is shown singing from the poplars in an image further down. The bluejays have thinned down a bit but they can still be quite noisy with their call. They can make a wide arrange of sounds, some sound like hawks while others have more throaty sound - they are quite interesting.

And of course I can't leave out the chickadees - they are still plentiful plus it is mating season so they are extra noisy as they call for their mates.

And finally I'll leave you with the sound of the geese. You always know when a goose is coming for they are honking while they fly.
