A very good day to everyone! Today, as I wrap up the story of my trip, more than a story it’s about sharing a bit of information about the town of Carlos Keen. Today’s post is about where and what you can eat in Carlos Keen. Generally, I don’t like to make many recommendations, but the truth is that we had such a wonderful time there and enjoyed such delicious homemade country-style food that I really recommend it in case you ever visit.
As soon as we entered the reserved place, you could already smell the aroma of grilled meat, a scent that instantly made me hungry. We could choose to sit at a table inside the establishment or outside, and since the day was so beautiful, we chose to sit outside.
Right away, the waitress came to explain how everything worked. For starters, there were fried meat empanadas, salami and cheese, olives, sausage in tomato sauce, pickled eggplants, and bread. As if that wasn’t enough, the main course was all-you-can-eat barbecue with one side dish per person, and for every two people, a large non-alcoholic drink.
No matter how hard I try, it’s impossible to describe the flavor of all the meat we were served. I had never tasted meat that good before. And not just the meat—the sausages, the chinchulines (intestines), the blood sausage, the kidneys, and so many other things—everything was delicious.
Between chatting and eating, I think that among all of us (since we were 15 people) we practically ate an entire cow. And when we thought we couldn’t eat another bite, they asked if we were staying for afternoon tea. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, what we paid also included a snack: fried pastries (tortas fritas) with mate cocido (a traditional hot drink made from yerba mate).
And of course, I’ll answer the question you’re probably wondering: how much did all of this cost? Well, adults paid 37,000 pesos and children under 7 paid 18,500 pesos. Really very cheap considering the prices in Argentina today.

Muy buen día para todos, hoy culminando la historia de mi viaje, más que historia es compartir un poco de información sobre el pueblo de Carlos keen. Hoy le toca al post qué pueden y donde comer en Carlos Keem. Generalmente no me gusta recomendar mucho pero la verdad es que la pasamos tan bien en ese lugar y comimos una comida de campo tan pero tan rica que se los recomiendo por si llegan a ir. Entramos al lugar reservado y ya se podía sentir el olor a carne asada, un aroma que a mi me abrió el apetito al instante. Podíamos elegir la mesa dentro del establecimiento o afuera, y la verdad es que el día estaba tan lindo que elegimos afuera. Enseguida nomas vino la camarera a explicarnos como era la cosa. De entrada había empanada de carne frita, salame y queso, aceitunas, chorizo a la pomarola, berenjenas al escabeche y pan. Como si fuera poco el plato principal era parrilla libre con una guarnición por persona y cada dos personas una bebida grande, no alcohólica. Por más que trate de describir el sabor de toda la carne que nos trajeron es imposible hacerlo, jamás probé una carne tan rica, y no solo la carne, los chorizos, los chinchulines, la morcilla, los riñones y otras cosas más, todo era rico. Entre charla y charla creo que entre todos, ya que eramos 15 personas, nos comimos una vaca entera y cuando ya no dábamos más nos preguntaron si nos quedábamos para la merienda, si señores y señoras, lo que pagamos también traía la merienda gratis, tortas fritas con mate cocido, y por supuesto responderé a la pregunta que se estarán haciendo en sus mentes, cuanto salio todo eso? Bueno los adultos $37000 y los menores de 7 años $18500. Realmente muy barato para los precios que se manejan en Argentina.
