Hello everyone @needleworkmonday am super glad to be here,it was indeed a stressful weekend
How was yours? I hope it was great,i pray may this week be fruitful as we stay positive.
Today am glad to share with you how i used a left over fabric to create a top for my daughter.
She likes it each time i come back from work and i am with something for her
Most times, when going to work she will shout or whisper "mummy sew a cloth for me"
I'll just smiled and say don't worry.
One thing i have learnt lately and i am trying to do is to also sew nice clothes for my kids when i am less busy not just on their special days alone.
My kids know that i sew for clients and i think that's why they are always expectant each time i am back from the shop.
Here are the materials i used: vintage material less than one yard,a scissors, white bias, measuring tape, thread and needle.
The fabric was just so small that i had to think of what to used it for,at first i felt like sewing a short for her, then i realised that the fabric won't be enough but i was determined to create something out of this beautiful piece.
So i decided to make a free top for her ,i folded the fabric into two,cut out the front and the back side
I had cut it together with shoulder.
Below is the images of the four ropes i had created for the side top,it was meant to be two ropes for each sides.
But guess what? I ended up not using it because the allowance from the inside was just so small for me.
So i choosed an elastic for it.
It still gave me the shift on the side of the blouse.
And i also used a white colour bais to turned the neck,i used it as a design and it came out beautifully well.while i used fabric fastener for the back of the neck since there was no zip.
I got back home in the evening and my baby girl was eagerly waiting to see what i made for her.
She saw it and scream with excitement.
The next day she rocked her top with her short and i was glad she loved it.
