Hello Hive Community.
I hope you all are fine. I am also fine here. Today I am presenting to you a place which is closely associated with mythological beliefs. This place is still a land for monks who do penance. Where in the cave you will find the monk Mahatma. Who spends his entire life doing penance. Along with this, in today's post I will talk to you about many things related to Bhimpul. This place is really peaceful and ethereal which should be visited at least once.
In the second photograph above, a big rock is seen. Which is known as Sheela Bhimpul. This rock is a famous natural stone bridge located in the village of Mana. This bridge is the last Indian village near the Indo-Tibet border in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India. Mana village is just 3 km away from Badrinath Dham, one of the four main holy pilgrimage sites of India. So every pilgrim coming to Badrinath must visit and have darshan of Bhimpul. Bhimpul is naturally built on the Saraswati river. Which is a holy river flowing with great power from the valley. This place is not only a wonder of nature but also has deep mythological significance related to the Mahabharata. Let me tell you about the mythological stories related to this place from the Mahabharata period.
According to legend, the Pandavas started their journey to attain heaven after the Mahabharata war. This journey to heaven is also known as Mahaprasthan. During the Mahaprasthan of the Pandavas, they passed through the village of Mana on their final journey to heaven. When the Pandavas reached the Saraswati River, they found it very difficult to cross it. The flow of the river was very strong due to it coming down from the mountains. During the Mahabharata period, the Pandava brother Bhima, who was known for his immense strength, lifted a huge rock and placed it on the river. From which a bridge was built for his family to cross the Saraswati River. Since then, this natural rock bridge has come to be known as Bhimpul. It is believed that after crossing Bhimpul, the Pandavas continued their journey towards the Himalayas, climbing higher and higher. This path is connected to the Swargarohini Marg, which means "Path to Heaven." Thus, Bhimpul is not only a geographical wonder but also a symbol of devotion, power, and the final journey of the Pandavas.
In the photographs above, one can see the beautiful natural scenery on the way to Bhimpul. Tourists first have to reach Badrinath, one of the most important pilgrimage sites in India. Mana village is only 3 kilometers away from Badrinath city. Which can be reached by jeep, taxi or even on foot. As can be seen in the second photograph above, the walking path from Mana village to Bhimpul is short and easy. A paved road passes through the lanes of a small village. Which is surrounded by mountains and greenery. As you move forward on the road, the sound of the Saraswati River becomes louder. Which leads the traveler towards Bhimpul. After walking for a while, a huge natural stone bridge is visible. Which makes the efforts of every traveler who comes here worthwhile.
As seen in the photographs above, Bhimpul is located between the mountains. The road to reach these mountains is endowed with the beauty of nature. This road passes near the majestic Himalayan mountains which stand tall and majestic with their rocky faces and green slopes. The peaks of these mountains are often covered with clouds and mist. Which gives this place a magical look. Sometimes these clouds part for a moment due to which the snow-capped peaks of the distant mountains shine like silver.
As you reach Bhimpur, you will see beautiful views of stones and big rocks. Due to the powerful flow of the river passing through these big rocks, the water of the river has also become flowing in these stones. As can be seen in the photograph above, the Saraswati river flows very vigorously below the Bhimpul. Its water makes a loud roaring sound while passing through the narrow valley. Standing on this bridge, every traveler can feel the strong wind. And can hear the roaring sound of the river. Which creates both enthusiasm and respect for the power of nature.
As can be seen in the photographs above, standing on Bhimpul offers one of the most captivating views of the Himalayas. The most attractive part of the view in the photograph above is the huge stone slab that forms the bridge. It seems as if a huge piece of rock has been carefully placed by a divine hand to connect the two sides of the river valley. The Saraswati River flows through a narrow gorge in the photograph above. The river rushes down with great force. It makes a loud roaring sound that echoes in the valley. The water disappears into the rocky gorge below the bridge and reappears with even greater force. It shows the power of nature. Looking down from above, the depth of the valley and the movement of the river make the scene thrilling and awe-inspiring.
As seen in the two photographs above, a small tea shop called Bharat Last tes shop is built near the road leading to places like Bhimpul, Saraswati River, Vyas Cave and Ganesh Cave. Its signboard proudly reads "Last Tea Shop of India". Which immediately catches the attention of the tourists who come here. Even though this shop is small, this shop has a lot of charm. It serves hot tea, coffee and light snacks to the weary pilgrims and tourists. The cool mountain air and the surrounding breathtaking views make a cup of tea here taste very refreshing. Sitting here with a glass of tea, gazing at the snow-capped peaks and listening to the sound of the Saraswati River nearby is an unforgettable experience.
There are also many caves in the gorges of these mountains. The one seen in the above photographs is Vyas Cave, while the one seen in the last photograph is the path to Ganesh Cave. Vyas Cave is a small but sacred cave in the village of Mana. There are also mythological stories associated with this cave. It is said that the great sage Maharishi Ved Vyas lived and meditated in this place. It is believed that it was inside this cave that he composed the Mahabharata, which is one of the longest and most important epics of the world. This cave is simple from the outside. It is made of natural rock formations. But it has deep spiritual value. At the top of the cave, the rock formation looks like the pages of a book placed one on top of the other. That is why it is also called the "Rock of Scriptures".
As seen in the photographs above, the cave where the monk lives is simple and natural. It is made of rocks carved by time and nature. Inside, there are no luxurious amenities. Just a small space with mats, a lamp and holy books. The monk spends his days in meditation, prayer and chanting, dedicating his life to spirituality and peace. For him, the cave is not just a shelter but a sacred place where he connects with God and nature.
I believe that Bhimpul is not just a mythological place but also a treasure trove of natural beauty. With its roaring river, green valleys and towering mountains touching the clouds, it seems as if nature itself is telling stories of the past. The short journey from Badrinath to Mana and then to Bhimpul is full of scenic charm and spiritual peace. The roaring Saraswati, the huge stone bridge and the surrounding rocks together create a scene that is forever imprinted in the heart of every visitor.
