Hello Hive Community.
I hope you all are fine. I am also fine here. It has been a long time since I have posted on a place surrounded by mountains in the worldmappin community. Today I am posting about a beautiful mountain pass that is blessed with the presence of nature. I love mountainous areas and I am always in search of new places. Today too I am posting with photographs on such a beautiful place called Changla Pass. I hope you will definitely like my post today. In my post today, I will give you detailed information about Changla Pass and also talk about things related to this place. So let me start today's post.
In the photograph above, we can see Changla Pass. Changla Pass is one of the highest motorable passes in the world. Changla Pass is located in the Union Territory of Ladakh. Ladakh is known all over the world for its barren yet beautiful landscapes, high-altitude lakes, snow-capped mountains and rich culture. Now if I talk about motorable passes, there are many high motorable passes in Ladakh and this pass is one of them. The green board above says Welcome to Changla. Along with this, there are also numbers written on it which show the height of this place above sea level. Which means that Changla Pass is located at an altitude of 17,688 feet (5,360 meters) above sea level. This place is really beautiful.
If I talk about another important thing about this pass, Changla Pass is located on the road connecting Leh, the capital of Ladakh, with Pangong Tso Lake, one of the most beautiful and highest lakes in India. If I tell you about the road here, the road leading to Changla Pass is steep, narrow and full of sharp turns. Since this area is surrounded by mountains and is located at a high altitude. These roads are maintained by the Border Roads Organization (BRO). This organization ensures that vehicles can pass even in harsh weather conditions. The road here is challenging during winter and summer. During winter, heavy snowfall often blocks the pass. BRO works hard to clear it. While during summer, the road remains difficult due to snowmelt water crossings and landslides.
There is also a small temple here. I have shared the photograph with you here. The name of this temple is "Changla Baba Sthal" after which this pass is named Changla Pass. Here, Changla Baba became a saint who is remembered with great respect by the locals. Before crossing the ghat, many travelers and motorists stop here to pray and seek blessings for a safe journey. Locals believe that Changla Baba protects travelers from troubles on this dangerous and challenging road. Which makes this road not only a physical route but also a place of spiritual and cultural importance. In the photograph above, the red board in Hindi reads "Changla Baba Sthal"
I believe that traveling to Changla Pass is an adventure in itself. Because of the height and difficult terrain, vehicles move slowly. And also as one climbs higher, the air becomes thinner. And the oxygen level also decreases. This sometimes causes altitude sickness, due to which travelers are advised not to spend more than 20-30 minutes at the top of the pass. Despite these challenges, people from all over the world travel here to see the beauty and thrill of such a high altitude place. The snow-capped mountain in the second photograph above describes the beauty of this place.
Changla Pass remains cold throughout the year. One of the reasons for this is the altitude and mountainous area of this place. Even in summer, the temperature here drops to zero point. And sometimes, even in summer, there is sudden snowfall. While in winter, the entire area is covered with a thick sheet of snow. Due to which it looks like a white wonder, but it becomes very difficult to reach this place during winter. As can be seen in the first photograph above, the surrounding peaks remain covered with snow most of the year. While as can be seen in the second photograph, small rivers can also be seen on the road. Green grass grows around the rivers. Animals come here to eat this grass.
Changla Pass is not just a tourist attraction. But it has great strategic importance for India. Changla Pass is a place located near the India-China border and at a high altitude. Which makes it an important route for the defense forces. The Indian Army has a strong presence in this area and maintains a camp near the pass. If you look at these photographs, you will see tents in the photographs. Soldiers also help tourists who may face health problems due to altitude. Or are trapped in a snowstorm. All these things seem very common but are full of importance.
I believe that every tourist visiting Ladakh should definitely visit Changla Pass. Because this pass itself offers a picturesque view of the surrounding mountains. The roads here pass through beautiful valleys, small villages and grazing lands where yaks and other Himalayan animals can be seen. I have also tried to capture these animals in photographs. However, the main attraction of the trip is reaching Pangong Tso Lake. The road to reach this lake passes through Changla Pass. Riding a motorcycle or driving a car on this winding and mountainous road gives one a sense of accomplishment.
In this area, you will find green signboards everywhere. Above I have presented samples of those signboards. I believe that this place is an opportunity for nature lovers and photographers. For peace seekers too, Changla Pass provides endless opportunities to capture the raw beauty of the Himalayas. The roads here often become slippery due to snow. Special note should be taken of the fact that vehicles sometimes have difficulty climbing. Since this is a mountainous and high-altitude area. Along with this, it is important for tourists visiting here to wear enough warm clothes and follow the advice of locals and military personnel.
If I share my experiences with you here, Changla Pass is not just a road between Leh and Pangong Lake, but a symbol of adventure and natural beauty. This place shows the greatness of the Himalayas and the courage of the people living in such difficult conditions. A visit to Changla Pass leaves a mark in the heart for a lifetime. Here, anyone can experience the thrill of the mountains and the beauty of the Himalayas.
