Julley Everyone,
Marking is beautiful day in my calendar from the past few years I would say and finally it was the day when I got the chance to visit and explore the world’s highest motorable Road in this beautiful portion of the Himalayas somewhere near about 40 km or from Leh we made our journey all the way to this beautiful magical corner and the most high altitude place that we could visit on that to in our car, the altitude being more than 17,500 feet above the sea level, and in this post, I’m gonna take you guys along with me to this beautiful magical journey and share the beautiful moments from the Himalayas.
Starting it out the condition of the road, it was kind of okay. I can’t say that it was all perfect, but it was the only time in the year that we could visit the place, and I came all the way from Manali, Himachal Pradesh and covered the distance of more than 500 km and then finally made it for the first few days, exploring the places nearby the Ladakh region, and it was the day my friends when I finally made it all the way to the world’s highest motor-able Road in the car the Khardung La Pass.
The view is all kind of looked so panoramic. It felt like just driving to the tap of the world and even beyond at certain points, it really felt beyond that we had few of the medicines which were prescribed to us on arrival at this high altitude place of Leh, Ladakh, which would help us for the altitude sickness and now we were able to explore the place literally the high altitude place, lack of vegetation, and Harsh climatic conditions was something that I would say it was more than that.
The dry mountains from far and far away, no trees, no vegetation. Nothing at all, and the mountain peaks in winter. Time with all cover with thick sheet of snow that would last fun about more than eight months at the particular place. I could see that even the rocks they were burnt by the cold and Harsh climatic conditions at the place, and all that we could see were just these barn lands and high altitude places in this portion.
At certain points, it even felt like that we were getting at the top of the world as previously mentioned as you guys can also see in this picture that the mountain peaks even kind of look like that they were below us and we were at the top, most point in this portion, forget about hiking or tracking at the top of the mountain or reaching the summit, we were literally driving by the top of the mountain going to another top and which was the mountain pass. Slowly gaining high altitude and we were at this particular time above more than 5000 m above, the sea level was kind of feeling dizzy but never stop and these beautiful views just kept me going on. We also carried few of the oxygen cylinders, so nothing was to worry about.
The Cemented Roads
It had been near about more than three hours since we started our journey and we reached at this portion from here. The Mountain pass was not quite far away, but another thing that I noticed it was that the roots, the kind of looked a bit different to me and it was that I saw the roads they were all cemented beyond. This point. There were these pebbles cemented pebbles by which the road was just formulated maybe because of the Harsh climatic conditions and also the cold wind that blue at the place, it was the peak summer time when I visited this place, my friend sharing the moments from the past expedition. This summers that I went on at the place and even till that time did that day it was near about -3°C at the place.
It was literally a whole lot of a different experience that I had on when I was at this place, and finally, it felt like that we were getting closer to the Pass and I was really very excited to see as finally. I made it all the way to the highest point, the motorable Road in the world. The views were so beautiful as it was not just about the nature being green with lush green Meadows and lush green trees all around, but I saw, and I realise that nature was beyond that when I visited this place at certain point, I could see the never melting glaciers the mountains which all burnt not by the sun, but by the cold climatic conditions, literally it was really a whole lot of a different world.
There was these endless number of turns and maybe that was the point that we could reach at the top of the mountain by doing Crisscross instead of getting a steep drive to the top of the mountain. The roads they were just so well engineered and so well built, and I even got to know from the locals that they used to be an ancient route that connects lay and Ladakh to the central Asian Silk route in the ancient times.
And just no time beyond that, capturing the photographs, enjoying the views, we finally made it all the way to the world’s highest high altitude, motorable Road.
By just crossing this board, we would be reaching the highest point at the portion. There were a few of the mountain peaks higher than that my friend, but just reaching at high altitude place, and that in our vehicle was something beyond the imagination.
finally, we made it all the way to the Khardung La Pass. 17582 ft
Decided to park the car by the side for a while, and we came out the car capture these beautiful photographs, and it was literally a beautiful moment. My friends that it was the moment like a dream come true moment for me, and I decided to since the beginning of the adventure to capture this photograph and share it with you guys through this post, so that you guys could also experience such moments directly from the Himalayas.
There, even were these Tibetan flags that were placed by the side of the road and representing the culture of Tibet with these colourful flags in which the holy chances were reading written on for the peacefulness of the place and much more.
Here is a quick screenshot that I took on when I was at the top of the mountain Pass that I got to see My Altitude at the place which was more than 5000m above the sea level.
From here we could see the never melting glaciers and few of them were like which were never melted at the top of the mountains. It was beautiful experience and we finally reached our destination. I tried capturing as many as I could, so that you guys could also experience the first hand experience directly from the Himalayas. I have captured all of these photographs using my Apple iPhone 12 and all of the photographs are raw and unedited so that you guys could get the true picture directly from the Himalayas.
Do let me know my friends, the portion of the adventure and the photographs you like the most in the comment section, and I would love to hear it from you.
Here is a quick glimpse when I turned back and all the way we came through kind of looked something just like this.
