Hello and welcome back to my blog!

I've been playing and sharing a lot of Horizon Zero Dawn recently. Judging by the number of my recent posts, you can get an idea of the impact it's had on me. I'm not in a rush to complete the campaign; instead, I want to explore more, battle different machines, and just get lost in this beautiful world that Guerrilla Games developed.
Some of my favourite moments in the game come from randomly bumping into a large machine, which gives a challenging fight. I remember the first time I saw a Thunderjaw machine; it was a massive unit capable of dealing serious damage.

---
It felt like a dinosaur versus a human fight. Aloy may be smaller in stature, but she has a lot of different weapons. The ability to scan each machine to look for its weaknesses and then deal the appropriate elemental damage is such a game-changer. Sometimes, you can even use these machines' strengths against them.
This Thunderjaw has a disc launcher on top of its back. If you can blast off the cannons from its body, you can use them against it. Moreover, there are many traps we can set.

---
The locals are hunting these machines too, as you can see from the effigies in these parts. Are they trying to scare away these machines? Whatever they're trying to do, it's not working.

---
You can hunt small animals like rabbits, foxes, and turkeys and use what you harvest to increase your ammo and weapon capacity. The world is filled with them; you can never be too far from these pesky animals.

---
The world of Horizon Zero Dawn is filled with signs of a lost civilisation. I saw a very old, rusted tank in the desert. How did most of them die? Was it because of some massive war? These tanks are so old that nature has almost reclaimed them.

---
Back to the big challenges in this game. Another massive machine is the Stormbird. This one is a flying beast with a lot of health. It has many ranged attacks, many of them with freezing effects. If you're not careful, it can kill you easily.

---
It has a massive wingspan. How a machine made out of metal and other heavy materials flies like this is a mystery. I think it defies the laws of physics, but who cares as long as it looks cool, right?

---
It doesn't look so big in the above shots, but look at its size when I killed it. Compare it with Aloy, and you'll know this is a massive unit. It shouldn't be flying like a bird with this size, but then again, maybe it's some advanced technology.

---
I love the huge world with a good variety of machines. While some of them are massive and very tough to defeat, many are smaller and easier to deal with. For example, the Grazer, which I call the "deer" of this machine kingdom. They are skittish, busy gathering some minerals from the land, or in other words, grazing, and they stay in big herds.

---
The blend of advanced technology with the primitive lifestyle of the tribes gives it a fresh flavour in the open-world genre. I don't play many because of how similar they look to each other, but this one is something different.
I will leave you with my favourite shot of the day. Sometimes, taking a break is a good idea, even if you are a fictional game character, right?

---
Let me know if you liked those shots and which one is your favourite among them.
Thanks for reading.
