Finding the Rare Mooshroom Island and Other Surprises!

In the last post on Luanti, I talked about our epic adventure where we searched for End Ships and looted them to get a few Elytras and Shulker shells. Once we came back riding our horses, a weird thing happened to them. Both of those horses had shiny golden armour. I had 'parked' mine inside a little pond. Don't worry, they have this superpower of walking on the water.  --- Beril made a fence for her horse and put him there like a sane person. We logged off, and when we logged in again, both of their armours were gone. They disappeared mysteriously. Horses were right there, but without their armour, and it wasn't a visual glitch either. This is an open-source project trying to replicate Minecraft, and it is not easy to do with just a small team of volunteers. I wanted to get more blaze rods to start brewing. But nether here is very tough... despite having enchanted diamond armour, you can die because the spawn rate is a bit different. There are a lot of mobs spawning over a small area, and each attack almost instantly. That's why I wanted to make a respawn anchor, but we were missing glowstones. My search for glowstone proved costly as I fell from the nether ceiling and was going to fall straight into the lava lake. But while in mid-air, I logged off and told Beril to cover the lake with some blocks. Even if I die from the fall damage, my items would not fall into the lava. She built a platform on the same spot I fall, big enough to hold all my items. I logged on and fell on those blocks, and to my surprise, didn't even die. I had Feather Falling III on my boots, which might have saved me from that fall damage.  --- We found glowstone and continued looking for more. We must have taken a couple of stacks and moved on. We stumbled upon a bastion, but we didn't want to loot it yet. First, we wanted to go back to the overworld safely, brew some potions and come back fully prepared.  --- The area was so hard to traverse with random lava pits all around us. Sometimes, even the roof had just exposed bedrock, making it very difficult to traverse. We decided to trade with Pilgins to get obsidians and get out of this hell.  --- There is a lot of gold in the nether, and we mined the ores and smelted them. After we collected about 3 stacks of gold ingots, we started trading with the piglins. Trades were surprisingly quicker than Minecraft. We were getting a lot of stuff, a bunch of iron boots with soul speed, many soul speed books, gravel, firecharge, iron nuggets, obsidians and crying obsidians. Sorting out that mess took us some time, too. Once we had enough Obsidian, we built a portal and got out. One block travelled in the Nether is about 8 blocks in the overworld, so we were thousands of blocks away from our house. At least, no Ghasts were trying to kill us here.  --- We found two villages close to each other. We checked what they had, nothing too fancy. One of the villages even had a church building which had a brewing stand. We stole that without any hesitation. xd  --- I saw a fully complete ruined portal. So, technically, it wasn't a ruined portal lol. This was my first time seeing a complete one. You usually see them with some blocks missing or replaced with crying obsidian, but getting a fully built, ready-to-go portal is very rare. We took some selfies in memory of this unexpected adventure. It started with me risking my life to Beril saving me and we both made it out of that hell. We had to stop and appreciate things which were not burning hot.  --- We were looking for a dark oak forest as well. Our dark oak sapling was misplaced by us, and we needed more. Dark oak biome seems to be rarer than usual in this game. Look at this island, I liked how this is partly a dark oak biome and partly a mooshroom cow biome (not sure what those are called).  --- Seeing mooshrooms was the best surprise in this adventure. That was the last thing we were expecting. This is one of the rarest biomes in the game, and finding it like this by accident was nice. It made the whole adventure much more memorable.  --- There were two types of shroom cows, one with the brown mushroom theme and the other with the red mushroom theme. That's different from the normal Minecraft.  --- We passed through a Jungle biome as well. Took cocoa beans so we can grow some at home and make cookies or brown dye. Overall, it was such a great adventure where we got a lot of new items, experienced many things for the first time in the game. And the best part, we didn't even die once.
