Hello and welcome back to my blog!
Have you been following my recent post on Luanti, where I shared the update on our survival world? The game is a clone of Minecraft, so most things are the same, but there are some differences and a few minor bugs, which make it a unique experience of its own. Sometimes these small changes are very handy, like you can have a stack of potion bottles, which is not possible in Minecraft. This makes it much easier to manage your inventory. But there are some changes which I don't like much. One of them is the difficulty spike in the Nether and the spawn rate.
I had to get more ingredients and blaze rods from the nether, but Blazes were spawning in dozens and shooting instantly upon seeing you. Their fireballs are doing a lot of impact damage too, which can end your health in seconds despite having a fully enchanted diamond armour.
I was working on brewing more potions and making a good stock of them for all our needs in future. But to brew a lot, I needed more blaze powder. I cannot endanger myself every time going into the Nether and fighting those blazes, so I had to come up with a plan to securely kill them and collect those rods without going into the open.
I replaced the stone layer with the glass so I can see them while they can't. That's Minecraft logic, don't ask me why. Probably because glass is considered a solid opaque block, so mobs can't see you through it.

---
The killing part is easy, because they kill themselves, but collecting those fallen rods was dangerous. So, I installed an automatic collection system with minecarts and hoppers, which can collect those rods automatically.
It was working fine until I went offline and came back. Then I had to put the minecart back to start it again.
The next thing I wanted was to get a safer way to kill Ghasts and get ghast tears for my potions. There was a chunk that I found, which spawned a lot of ghasts; it was on the Basalt delta biome. I could also get some magma cream for fire resistance potions.

---
I wanted to do the same thing, so I dug a big tunnel and replaced the upper layer of Basalt with glass. But the issue was that they were spawning a lot, and they were not hitting each other, so there was no safe way to kill them.
I tried to throw a potion of harming towards them. Two potions can kill one of them. But that was a slow and expensive approach. I can try and deflect their fireballs towards them, but it wasn't very consistent.

---
I had to go out and kill them the old-fashioned way. The good thing about these was that their spawn rates weren't too high, and their massive size was restricting their movements. Some would get stuck on a block easily, and I could use this opportunity to single them out and kill them.

---
Once the initial 5-6 were dead, the others didn't spawn that quickly. They were spawning one or two every two to three minutes. Unlike the Blazes that were spawning in batches of 3 and there were dozens at the same time.
I collected a lot of Magma cream and enough ghost tears for many potions.

We went fishing for rare fish. The nearest ocean wasn't too far away, and I spent the whole night fishing from my enchanted fishing rods. Puffer fish are also ingredients for potions. We had fun on this little fishing trip. Shulker boxes help carry stuff around as well.
