Que grande es la historia de la humanidad. Con la cantidad de eventos importantes que ocurrieron en ella, uno puede llegar a perderse. Por suerte, hay libros que nos permiten enlazar los eventos y en este caso reflexionar sobre los mismos. Leí el libro mediante una edición reciente de la editorial Alma del 2023.
How great is the history of mankind. With the number of important events that occurred in it, one can get lost. Luckily, there are books that allow us to link the events and in this case reflect on them. I read the book via a recent edition from Alma Publishing House in 2023.
Sinopsis: El escritor Stefan Zweig escribió 14 miniaturas históricas que nos cuenta mediante pasajes novelados, diversos momentos históricos. Se caracteriza que si bien fueron momentos fugaces tuvieron una gran trascendencia. Luego de la primera miniatura, dedicada a Ciceron, los demás relatos se ubican en la era moderna para adelante, comenzando con la caída de Constantinopla.
Synopsis: The writer Stefan Zweig wrote 14 historical miniatures that tell us through novelized passages, various historical moments. It is characterized that although they were fleeting moments, they had a great transcendence. After the first miniature, dedicated to Cicero, the other stories are set in the modern era onwards, beginning with the fall of Constantinople.

Mis relatos favoritos son los de la caída de Bizancio, donde logra sentir mucha de las emociones de la gente amurallada en Bizancio, haciendo un frente común frente a la segura muerte. La de Vasco Nuñez de Balboa, una historia que no conocía bien de la conquista de América, siendo un personaje que siempre estuvo dispuesto a arriesgarlo todo, y la historia dedicada a la fiebre del oro, donde creo que se puede sacar de conclusión, es saber cuando recoger ganancias y evitar pérdidas.

Cada historia narra el contexto que ubica la historia particular y en cierto aspecto, las reflexiones de los personajes involucrados. De alguna manera te hace pensar que todos podemos caer en algún momento donde estamos a merced de algo más grande, y que llegado el momento nos tocará tomar nuestra propia acción trascendental.
Each story narrates the context that sets the particular story and in a certain aspect, the reflections of the characters involved. Somehow it makes you think that we can all fall at some point where we are at the mercy of something bigger, and that when the time comes we will take our own transcendental action.
Es un libro fácil de leer, y que te permitirá más allá de las reflexiones que genera, ubicar ciertos eventos en la línea histórica de la humanidad. Recomendable leer.
