I just finished watching this action thriller movie for like three times because it was just too splendid for me to stop watching at the first time. This movie shows the undiluted patriotic hero in a woman who was the President and could do anything to keep her citizens safe and never leaving her family behind. It shows the unconditional love of a mother to her children even when they hurt her so many times and also the heart of a man who loves his wife even when she was a global leader but stood by her through thick and thin and making sure their secret promises didn't fail in the day of adversity. It shows the sacrifices of a family who stood there to fight together when the whole world was against them, this movie is one in a million I must say, so many lessons I have learnt.

G20 is an American action thriller movie, it was directed by Patricia Riggen starring the Academy award winning actress Viola Davis who acted as Madam President Danielle Sutton. The movie takes us into a hostage crisis where a woman President had to fight her way to survival and also save everyone in the crisis including her family. It mixes political drama, suspense and fearless heroism into one powerful story. The struggle between life and death was real. It made me remember the story of Esther in the Bible who said "If I perish, I perish"
PLOT
The movie started with the scene of a lady about to deliver a crypto handy wallet to a group of men but when she realized they just wanted to collect the wallet without paying her, she ran off and they gave her a hot chase jumping from one house to another and from street to another until she thought they lost track of her so she stopped by at club to have some drinks, that was where one of them injected her and collected the wallet from her.
The scene moved to the Madam President house, Danielle Sutton who is the current female president of USA has a daughter named Serena who wasn't giving her mum joy, she escaped the house that night through the perimeter to join her friends in the club. The video of her act was everywhere disturbing the political image of her mum who is just about to hold a G20 meeting with top leaders of different states in South Africa. G20 refers to the international summit where leaders of the world’s largest economies gather to discuss global challenges. However, this year's G20 topic is concerning how to liberate the people out of poverty especially the farmers.
Unknown to Madam President, her esteemed treasury secretary Joana Worth and one of her personal guards Officer Darden were the inside men planning a coup with an ex Australian soldier named Edward Rutledge who disguise himself as the head of Pax Security in charge of G20 that day with the help of the inside men.
It wasn't long when the G20 conference started that the coup started executing their plans, they started by using a time bomb to execute all the CAT USA Security Agents while they were in their room. After that they strike fully by using some kind of sleepy and deadly gas on all the other security agents so that they could have full access to the conference room where all the leaders were gathered. They took all the leaders hostage but Madam President Sutton who was a smart, courageous and deeply determined leader refused to stand by while danger threatens her and other world leaders. She escaped narrowly with the help of her personal guard Manny, who was very faithful to his boss even when he was shot at some point.
Edward Rutledge the leader of Pax Security had a crypto wallet which he collected from the lady he killed in the first scene so his plan was to bring down the prices of dollar by falsely using the AI deep fake video of the leaders in order to publicize it to the citizens of their country so that citizens will withdraw their money from the banks, put it into cryptocurrency so that the value of his wallet increases and he can run off with the money. The coup were able to get control of every security camera, key cards, door and every other surveillance. It was hard for any help to come because when they moved anywhere around the building, they will be seen and this might cause the death of the hostages so in order to save the leaders lives, help couldn't come.
However, President Sutton refuses to be just another hostage, she draws on her military background and sharp intelligence to start fighting back from within, moving carefully through service areas and hidden passages of the building, she avoids detection while looking for a way of escape, break their surveillance and bring in help from without. She partnered with Manny, her personal guard together, they began to weaken the terrorists from the inside, they disable communication devices, rescue trapped staff and quietly pass information to outside forces without alerting Edward Rutledge.
Serena also offered to help by using her tracking skills to open the doors using the key card reader. At the long run, there was a breakthrough and help came rescuing the leaders in the conference room. Madam President Sutton also fought through thick and thin to destroy Edward and his crypto wallet.The leaders emerge shaken but alive owing their survival to the courage and intelligence of President Sutton.
REVIEWS AND RATINGS
G20 is more than just an action movie, it carries strong messages about courage, leadership and resilience. President Danielle bravery shows that leadership is not about being fearless instead it is about acting in spite of fear and hurt from people you trusted the most. The film also shows the importance of women in leadership roles, it was inspiring to see a black female president not only lead but also physically fight to protect others.
Viola Davis delivers a powerful performance that blends authority, intelligence and raw emotion. She makes President Sutton believable both as a political leader and as a fighter. The villain Edward Rutledge was equally well played giving the movie a strong and threatening antagonist. I must say that all the actors really did a great job acting out their roles, it was so real and raw.
I will be rating this movie 9 out of 10 and I will be recommending it to you too.
