One of the most beautiful things that a believer can carry is holiness, but it is deemed to be misunderstood. Holiness is not a burden, it is a beauty and it glorifies itself like an inward light. In Psalm 29 it is stated in the bible that one should worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. This implies that holiness is beautiful, pleasant and glorified.
We all know what beauty is, our colourful dresses, our vibrant culture, our celebratory nature but there is still something more beautiful in holiness. Beauty is the purity of a pure heart, calm mind, and a Godly life. The issue of holiness does not consist of being blameless through your unique power, but in letting God create your character. When an individual is living in holiness, their words are graceful, their deeds are loving and their presence is peaceful.
The beauty of holiness is manifested in the way we forgive when it is difficult, the way we leave the corrupt party when everybody is involved, and how we say the truth over lies when the former appears easier. Sacredness causes one to shine without uttering a word.
There is a darkness in the world and so holiness becomes light. People might not grasp it immediately, but they will experience its effect and best of all is that God Himself takes pleasure in those that choose righteousness. It is His character and in the course of walking in holiness, we become a mirror of Him to the world.
Beauty is holiness, pure, peaceful, powerful, timeless etc and in embracing it we make our lives testimonies which attract people to God.
