You being on the right track is a great feeling, and it is as if the hard work is over. You have your what and your why worked out, infact, may have even visualized the end result already. That said at this point it’s all very well and looking good, but very few things are accomplished. The right track is a start, a place to put the first foot forward.
People talk a lot and at great length on direction, purpose, clarity. But that which they put into action is always what counts and what bring results. Time is constantly in motion, time doesn't stop for anyone. Also other people are in constant movement, those that question or know only a little of what you know, they're moving forward.
Before you know it, they are ahead of you, they took that next step which you were still at that thought stage for God knows how long.
The problem is that some years go by very quietly. At first you think you are in preparation mode, and preparation mode can easily be a trap to eternal procrastination. You think that you are organized and waiting for the right break. Time passes, days turn into months. Then you wake up to find the garage turned into a parking lot. Your progress or effort doesn’t have to be a big one. It may be in the form of that one offhand email, that which is left half done in your documents, that which you put off for yourself.
Progress does not care if you are ready, and you don't need everything to be alright before making effort. We begin to move the day we decide to step out of the background or the thinking and planning zone. You do not need speed, talent or a great amount of inspiration. What you really need is motion or taking action. Even the smallest effort is worth it.
Staying still regardless of your wisdom and talent will still amount to nothing. So move before time leaves you behind.
