Maturity Level

How you behave when life is simple and everything is working out for your good is not who you really are. Everyone can be cool, calm and collected when everything goes well and according to plan.

I thought it is fair to say that what defines you is your approach, your behavior and your general reactions, when everything is going wrong and you feel life’s unreasonable and unjust treatment.

Everyone looks ok and maybe even tough before issues arise. Once things become difficult, people begin to cry, blame and get mad at everyone and everything around them all. They start acting out of character.

But a person with true maturity can be cool, calm and collected in difficult and even in disrespectful situations.

There are some things that could be described as disrespectful, for instance a job in which you have been employed, and the people just don't value you as much as your worth. Quite a difficulty that appears to be too huge to tackle on your own. You would end up always being stressed, exhausted and very confused most of the times.

Let’s talk about the level of growth that happens within you, depending on your response. A person who is immature would act quickly without reasoning and with more emotions than logic. They’d scream or quit their job or start being pessimistic about work environment.

A mature person is aware that everything is not perfect, yet they attempt to manage their own mindset. Before they act, they consider life’s terms. While keeping their standards, they will never allow people to compromise them. Maturity has nothing to do with your age. So many young people are betternequipped to tolerate life’s discomfort than most elderly people. It is not your attitude all of the time. It’s a question of when to be silent, when to argue and when to compete. To sum all that up, how you deal or react to situations.

It’s about choosing your fights, proving your argument and having the regular issues of life but without disturbing your peace. Maturity is recognizing that you won’t always succeed on your terms, buy you always manage to present yourself in the right way.

As you're going through the storms of life, consider this question all the time, am I growing, or am I behaving in the same way as I used to years ago?
