Hunger makes people crazy and drives an individual out of their minds. I have seen hungry people in life but when it comes to talking about refugees, I saw hunger makes people angry too. This week was a lot for me, not only I had a minor accident but also I experienced many things and learned lessons in life as well. Why I talked about hunger? There is a major reason that I am going to share today. But before that let me give you a quick update on my health and what exactly happened to me recently.
My health is okay now and my wounds are almost healed as well. Well, I stay in a small room given by Almere municipality with my dog Gigi. Gigi is growing and her energy level is insane. Sometimes she drives me nuts and a long walk is not adequate for her. So when she is full of energy and so happy, she starts doing zoomies. At that moment she enjoys her own moment to release her energy; that moment is very difficult to handle her. I also don't bother her because I know she needs to release her energy and also needs to feel good. So, a few days ago she was running so fast in the room and suddenly she jumped on me. As a result, I got hurt in my left eye and for a while, I couldn't even bear the pain. I thought my eye is completely damaged because she scratched me in my eye. She was fast and couldn't control herself.
I was in so much pain and then I noticed I was bleeding. Initially, I thought that something serious happened but fortunately, the inside of my eye was okay. It was a thin save but the outer portion of my eye has got hurt and now it almost healed. Besides, a day before yesterday in the early morning, blood was coming out from my nose and I still don't know why that happened. I have been taking a lot of stress lately because I don't want to stay in this small room anymore. Besides, I always take pressure thinking about my job, life, career, and everything. So, in the end, the reason for the bleeding from my nose is still unknown.
Recently our shelter doesn't provide adequate food for us, I mean for the refugees from Ukraine. The food amount was so limited that people didn't get enough food throughout the week. There was not enough bread, eggs, milk, and fruit in the morning and during lunch, and also food got finished during dinner time as well within 30 minutes. So people stay hungry. Those who are doing their job go outside to buy food but the people who don't have any job, for example, the people who have serious medical conditions and old people, for them it was very difficult without a proper meal. Not only people did fight with each other for food but also people shared bread with each other just to eat something. In my opinion, breakfast and dinner are the most important meal and this situation happened for the entire week. This is how refugees from Ukraine are being treated by some companies.
The municipality is paying a lot of money for the refugees to the company but in the end, companies somehow not using the money properly and keeping people hungry day by day. I see everything and I know everything but I don't say anything. People were angry but in the end, they said that at least they are safe and can survive with one bread with coffee for the entire day. They considered one bread for the entire day as a food/meal. The dinner situation is horrible, some people get food, some only get rice and vegetables and others don't get anything except the rice.
This situation happened due to a lack of proper management and efficiency. I believe the food shortage happened due to ignorance of the organization regarding the refugee issue. I have been noticing this situation for a long time and observed it closely so I came up with this conclusion...
I still have a source to write and share everything; some don't have any option except surviving in this situation. We are grateful but still without food I believe it's very difficult to live life. The mental condition of a refugee is very difficult to understand because already they are going through a lot. Life is very difficult for them already and circumstances took everything from them. Such kind of sad, uncertain situation makes a refugee's life more miserable. But still, we are grateful that we have a safe place to stay, we have a roof and a bed to sleep in. We have hot water in our room and we get coffee and tea every day for breakfast and lunch.
I consider this week to be a bad and unlucky week. It could have been worse but I'm glad my eyesight is safe and undamaged.
I want to finish this post here because I am on medication for my eye. I worked the whole week with the injured eye and finally, its injury is getting better.
Thanks for reading... See you soon...
