The Game Played
gamblers, trestle up before claiming your seat at the table make sure the crescendo of your cha-ching doesn’t overwhelms the cut of your bustle
fortune will play sleight of hand lending thoughtless ninnies faux-grace and knave-like masculinity
take heart ... a diamond or clover
and remember even the luckiest fool with a horseshoe-affected shuffle can be beaten by the bluff of a spade-wielding scoundrel
Boy, did I have to wrestle with grok to get this image. I wanted a futuristic, spacey, but still old-timey western feel. I thought the best way to achieve this was to add elements of cyber and steam punk. The thing with AI is if it hasn't been done before, it struggles and will take everything rather literal. To what had been done before; it was giving me a lot of AI thirst images; you know where the woman's proportions are a la Jessica Rabbit and central to the image. This grok excelled at but if you take a look at the final image, a simple playing card become out of reach. What I have noticed is when you ask too much of AI or something different; it will freeze and just keep giving you the same image again and again; gaslight you and say they had made the changes when they hadn't. Credit where credit is due however, we did eventually create a fun, futuristic and striking image; but AI did need human helps.

black ice
on a rogue moon
a deep hum emits
from beneath
a dark
fractal'd mirror
radio waves signal
hydric undertones
from the pre-Hadean
self-replicating spirals ...
or just inorganic
rumblings; company
as we forever
elongate
into the vacuum ....
or wishful thinking
from the perpetually
lonely
anthropocene marble
endless pastures of blue
ripples and waves
streams of consciousness
conglomerate noise
stoney oases from the saline
a deep hum emitted
from beneath a dark
fractal'd mirror
passed over for the breezy serenity
of Mars and the tempestuous heat
of Venus
as we forever
elongate
into the vacuum ....
of wishful thinking

The first image and word pairing that came to mind was sounds and reflections coming from beneath black ice. From the there, it was thoughts of the comet of 31/Atlas. So many are hoping that is an alien visitor to our planet. Using abundant space, science, and astronomy allusions, the poem Wishful Thinking into the Vacuum attempts to capture that longing for others out in the universe. It is why we keep looking, isn't it?
