Strings
scent and musk pheromones vibrate through the vines fractals and waves
stamen and carpel do not misplay or deceive the song is simple universal
petals unfold and quiver vibrato with perfect pitch
truth intertwines with eternity
nucleic particles dissolved helices strum a thrombic tattoo conduct a symbiotic melody
mendacity syncopates the rhythm disjoins the bridge destroys the symphony
when the strings attempt to outplay the beat, discord chaos and decay are composed
without honesty creation is corrupted life is deformed truncated or extinguished
Turn Crimson
long summer evenings short autumn afternoons my rosé turns crimson
Saved for Parched Lips
spacious shade forested magic petal and leaf
vines, roots
a sacred pedestal lichen clad torsos sway and bend in the southerlies
stalititic moss billowy sleeves gathered and draped from hepatic limbs the last tempest now months ago
cached tears and laments basted and casked in seems and gnarls
lagrimas diffused and fermented with the weeks
a glade's ambrosia strong and spirited saved for parched lips
A Wild Daisy Romance
a wild daisy among cultivated blooms a fickle bumblebee kissed by a breeze nudged off-course call it happenstance romance
Sci-Fi Negroni
Yes, this girl loves her dry Rosé at the end of a hot summer day. Generally wine is my drink, to go with whatever the dish of the day is; but now and then I crave a Negroni. My favorite gin however is Empress Gin, made in British Columbia, and named after its famous Empress hotel. Empress gin is elevated with butterfly pean blossoms, and so making a Negroni with Empress adds purple and blue shades to the red and orange garnered from the campari and orange. I may have substituted out the vermouth, but that will remain my little secret for a bit. The result is out of this world. Spacey and a perfect accompaniment to go with Foundation, one of my favorite sci fi shows.
Give it a try if you have access to Empress Gin.
Chromatic Vision
beauty is in the eye of those with the mind to open the soul
focal points too narrow prisms to prisons see in black and white duotone
narrower-still cataracts form clouds shackle irises to a world of monochrome
beauty is in the eye of those with the mind to open the soul
black bursts to iridescence paler hues birth their glow
Now you are seeing with full chromatic vision
beauty is in the eye of those with the mind to open the soul
