Honey-Combed Caches

blushing felines
pretty in pink
in a garden green
a hushed translucent air, stillness
a brownian, rose-colored mirror
the static and buzzing queen awakens
vicariously stalks her own reflection
aided by furry, winged voyagers
clumsy and slow, sleepy and ill-fated

still, they get her there
get the long-days work done
languorous, lackadaisical
intoxicated on nectar
feted on floral gametes
fumbling and flitting, pollen-laden
among the now early autumn petals
sugar-seeking shepherdesses
gathers sweetness, clumsily racing
against the merger of a salty wind
with a growing arctic front
the bay reaches out
a brisk cat's-paw
sharp and insistent
invades and pillages
a weeping October garden
making brisk a royal, honeyed bed
scatters minute, buzzing drones
sentry and messengers retreat
with what has been gathered
back to the hive
un-missed, mislaid
over-flowing golden excess
wasted in the careless grip
of a salty north-westerly
sweetness will be fermented
with what the ruby tiger has given
jewelled and geometric
honey-combed caches
hold next season's provisions
for a queen of creation
in her golden chambers
she dreams and slumbers
awaiting her springtime coronation
her August jubilee

A New Online Avatar for X

Every now and then, a girl likes to see a new face staring back at her from the tiny X profile pic window. Choose a good hair day and one where the night before gave you a full rest, and not suprise ... it's 3:30 AM and you will be up for the next 5 hours night... like today ... as I write this ... then getter shutter happy. The bathroom usually has the best lighting. Spend a little time having fun with filters and one that fixes the lighting changes that the phone makes for no good reason and voilà, you are a new woman, or man, or whatever.
I generally go with a black and white for X and color everywhere else. Don't ask me why. Anyways, which do you like?

The Mycelium's Kitchen

pungent, earthy
the mycelium's kitchen
prepares new dishes
with table scraps
soil scratchings
an ancient recipe

#
Yearn

I yearn ... for the song
of starlings
the shrinking shadows
of crowing magpies
the lifting of twilight
the return of pilfered
shiny things

#
Wind-Borne

autumn
wind-borne seeds
seasons past
present, future
I plant memories

#
Time

the clock captures time
centuries turn
epochs shift
time eludes the clock
no two arms however long
can contain eternity
