Anime Review ~ Look Back - A Heartwarming Story of Art, Friendship and Loss

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well. Today I am here with a touching anime that presents a very beautiful combination of art, friendship and loss. I want to tell you the story of two girls who met because of their mutual love for drawing and how they both take each other to greater heights and how they go through a tragic turn and everything is destroyed.    Story Summary   Look Back is a series that spans the lives of two girls Fujino and Kiyomoto, who are both fans of drawing manga. Fujino is a young and confident artist who loves the fame she gets from her work in her school newspaper. However, she hears about another lonely school absentee but otherwise beautifully detailed manga panel named Kiyomoto. Initially, Fujino is jealous and intimidated, but curiosity compels her to go to Kiyomoto's house. Through this encounter, everything is different as they connect through art, inspire each other and slowly form a friendship.  The story line becomes heartbreaking when one of the worst things happens and the worlds of these two are shattered. Fujino is caught up in the experience of poverty, despair, grief, self-blame, and regret. As she recalls her time with Kiyomoto, she finds the strength to create as a memory of Kiyomoto through her art.    My Review   **Look Back** is a touching work of art that presents a colorful mix of friendship, art and loss and is very bittersweet. The melody is gentle and meditative and things breathe between the scenes. The cartoon embodies the lyrical quality of ordinary life and makes the emotional scenes even more so. There is authenticity in the relationship that exists between Fujino and Kiyomoto that was dominated by admiration, rivalry and reciprocity.  Self-worth, artistic intensity and the inevitability of death are also themes raised in the film. It doesn't necessarily shy away from depicting the pain of immediate tragedy but it does provide a foreshadowing of something better in the future. The music adds to the emotional appeal and some scenes become truly memorable. Overall Look Back is a short but captivating anime that won't let you go even after the credits roll. It's a must watch if you like touching emotional stories full of artistic potential. That's it for today.
