I frequently visit the National Art Gallery, as there are always activities of interest to me, and I take advantage of the opportunity to see what new exhibitions have been opened in the galleries. This week, I came across a very interesting exhibition by the artist Bruno García entitled "Levitating Archetypes." A wonderful selection of pieces in diverse artistic techniques, including monumental paintings, collages of different sizes, graphite on paper, acrylics on canvas, notes, sketches, and preparatory studies, all displayed as museum materials. There are also many drawings and a monumental installation in fine wire with sculptural additions. It offers a journey through the artist's 30-year career.
Frecuentemente visito la Galería de Arte Nacional, ya que siempre hay actividades de mi interés y aprovecho para ver que nuevas exposiciones han renovado en las salas; esta semana me encontré con una muestra muy interesante del artista Bruno García titulada "Arquetipos levitantes" una maravillosa selección de piezas en diversas técnicas artísticas como pinturas monumentales, collages de diferentes tamaños, obras en grafito sobre papel, acrílicos sobre tela, apuntes, bocetos o estudios preparatorios que se exhiben como material museográfico, aparte de muchos dibujos y una instalación monumental en alambre dulce con agregados escultóricos. un recorrido por los 30 años de trayectoria del artista plástico.
With this series of works, the artist begins a visual, historical, philosophical, and aesthetic exploration that, while retaining the descriptive quality of graphic art and a representative concern, has evolved from its technical procedures toward a greater gestural, material, and seductive texture, as well as transparencies that occasionally blur its figures, which have resulted in a greater degree of abstraction and formal synthesis.
Con esta serie de obras el artista inicia una indagación plástica, histórica, filosófica y estética que, conservando la cualidad descriptiva del grafismo y una preocupación representativa, ha evolucionado desde sus procedimientos técnicos hacia una mayor carga gestual, matérica y de seductoras texturas, además de transparencias que en ocasiones desdibujan sus figuras, las cuales han devenido en un mayor grado de abstracción y síntesis formal.
Bruno García's work is characterized by its gestural and synthetic charge, where the forcefulness of the line points to allegorical values, such as those expressed in cave painting, Egyptian murals, Greek vase painting, Renaissance drawing and anatomical concern with scientific roots, among other motifs with which he offers narratives about immemorial times, times that refer to the civilizing origins governed by ritual and myth.
La obra de Bruno García se caracteriza por la carga gestual y sintética, en donde la contundencia de la línea señala valores alegóricos, como los expresados en la pintura rupestre, la muralistica egipcia, la pintura de las vasijas griegas, el dibujo renacentista y la preocupación anatómica de raigambre científica, entre otros motivos con los que ofrece narrativas acerca de tiempos inmemoriales, tiempos que refieren a los orígenes civilizatorios gobernados por el ritual y el mito.
The symbolic charge of these representations seeks to bring to the world those graphic motivations that characterized it, now captured through the power of color, the pasty stain, the dynamic tension of the chromatic planes that combine to populate the support with different resources to enrich the work of the draftsman, whose stroke remains as a vestige.
La carga simbólica de esas representaciones, procuran traer al mundo aquellas motivaciones graficas que lo caracterizaron, plasmadas ahora por intermedio de la potencia del color, la mancha pastosa, la tensión dinámica de los planos cromáticos que se combinan poblando el soporte con diferentes recursos para enriquecer la labor del dibujante, cuyo trazo va quedando como vestigio.
The artist acts as an archaeologist interested in studying primitive, archaic, ancient, or traditional aesthetic manifestations in order to bring them into the present, with all their magical religious power, with a polysemic, syncretic, and enriched sense to generate visions and fantasies that stimulate access to other states of consciousness, based on belief systems that prioritize the function of worship.
El artista actúa como un arqueólogo interesado en estudiar las manifestaciones estéticas primitivas, arcaicas, antiguas o tradicionales de manera de hacerlas venir al presente, con todo su poder mágico religioso, con un sentido polisémico, sincrético y enriquecido para generar visiones y fantasías que estimulan el acceso hacia otros estados de conciencia, partiendo de sistemas de creencias que priorizan la función del culto.

This is undoubtedly a sensorial pictorial experience that allows you to delve into the history of humanity expressed through the author's narrative context. I truly love visiting these types of exhibitions, which take me on an out-of-body journey as I analyze the artist's intentions in creating these works of art. I hope you enjoy this post. Good vibes.
