This week I had the opportunity to attend the opening of the first solo exhibition of artist Jean Capote, a brother of the arts I met at university and with whom I developed a close friendship. After a long journey and effort in his artistic career, he was given the opportunity to exhibit his works in a solo exhibition at the Carlos Cruz Diez Museum of Printmaking and Design, located in Caracas, Venezuela.
Esta semana tuve la oportunidad de asistir a la inauguración de la primera exposición individual del artista Jean Capote, hermano de las artes que conocí en la universidad y con el que generé una muy buena relación de amistad; luego de un gran recorrido y esfuerzo en su carrera artística se le dio la oportunidad de exponer sus obras en una sala individual en el museo de la estampa y el diseño Carlos Cruz Diez ubicado en la ciudad de Caracas, Venezuela.
The exhibition, titled "CHROMOSAICOS," brings together 18 pieces created using different techniques, predominantly digital design and screen printing, drawing on psychedelic art, ritual graphics, and digital interfaces, giving rise to a uniquely vibrant and hypnotic visual language. The works assembled here are not only intended to be observed, but also experienced as perceptual triggers, energy fields that challenge the viewer's body, psyche, and symbolic memory.
La muestra titulada CROMOSAICOS recopila 18 piezas creadas en diferentes técnicas en las que predomina el diseño digital y la serigrafia, nutriéndose del arte psicodélico, la gráfica ritual y las interfaces digitales, dando lugar a un lenguaje visual propio, vibrante e hipnótico. Las obras aquí reunidas no solo buscan ser observadas, sino vividas como detonantes perceptuales, campos de energía que interpelan al espectador en su cuerpo, su psiquismo y su memoria simbólica.
The exhibition's deliberately saturated color palette functions as an instrument of emotional impact and energetic resonance; far from serving an ornamental role, chromatic color is an active agent of perceptual transformation. Each piece acts as a threshold into territories of the collective unconscious, a map of access to expanded states of consciousness through the visual.
La paleta cromática de la muestra, deliberadamente saturada, funciona como un instrumento de impacto emocional y resonancia energética; lejos de cumplir un rol ornamental, el color CROMOSAICO es un agente activo de transformación perceptual. Cada pieza se ofrece como un umbral hacia territorios del inconsciente colectivo, un mapa de acceso a estados ampliados de conciencia desde lo visual.
This exploration achieves a study of social and sensorial reciprocity, as a phenomenological aspect from a community that is constantly changing, which motivates the generation of ideas that will foster a sense of individual belonging for both the work and its viewer.
Esta exploración consigue un estudio de reciprocidad social y sensorial, como semblante fenomenológico desde una colectividad que se mantiene en constantes cambios, los cuales son motivadores para generar planteamientos de ideas que sobrellevaran un sentido de pertenencia individual tanto para la obra como su espectador.
I really loved being able to accompany the brother and attend the inauguration, already in the past I have had the opportunity to collaborate in several artistic projects with him and I know that future projects will come in which we can express with art all the knowledge we are learning in the academic process that we share in college, it makes me very happy to be able to support my friends in their growth and see them reach this type of achievements in art. De verdad me encanto poder acompañar al hermano y asistir a la inauguración, ya en el pasado he tenido la oportunidad de colaborar en varios proyectos artísticos con él y sé que vendrán proyectos futuros en los que podremos expresar con el arte todos los conocimientos que estamos aprendiendo en el proceso académico que compartimos en la universidad, me hace muy feliz poder apoyar a mis amigos en su crecimiento y verlos alcanzar este tipo de logros en el arte.
