Back in the crypto boom of 2017 I was introduced to Steemit by @ArtyStuff. A platform where you get paid to post your art sounds like something worth exploring further. That and my inner geek ears pricking at the word Blockchain.
I was hooked immediately, and my content ranged from my Crochet items on NeetleWorkMonday, Growing Vegetables on my allotment - Allotment24, Art - Sketchbooks, Clay, Food Posts and every other random post in between.
Over the years, Hive has been a place that encourages me to stop doom scrolling and do activities and has helped with my creativity so much. I am entering into a period of my life where I want to do that again, so hopefully there'll be lots more posts from me on various topics in the future.
I thrived on watching other homesteaders on their allotments and looking at how their seeds were progressing and what food prepping they were doing next such as @papa-pepper and @homesteaderscoop. From canning, to pickles, preserves and liquir making I learnt and experimented with so much.
Here are some examples of my older posts.
I've taken part in competitions and my posts have been selected in prize-winning places in other users' posts, which has meant a lot to me and certainly made my time on this app worthwhile.
One time I even won a 1g of gold from the Royal Mint from a Christmas Advent comp @welshstacker shared about!
I took part in Discord Radio Shows with @Pennsif, which was an exhilarating experience at the time, and sat down huddled in my kitchen trying to figure it out for the first time.
We had a Steemit meetup in Lampeter in Wales, which was great to have one local to me!
There are a lot of users who are not longer on hive, including Pennsif, Artystuff and @crosheille and their lovely needlework items. A few of the friends I joined up back then are no longer using at all, which is a shame. It's great that @steevc is keeping a list going though =D So useful
Some faces are still around from then, such as @livinguktaiwan, @steevc and @shanibeer, and I am sure there are more, but I've only just started posting again and getting the brain to start working.
I hadn't planned to take a break as long as I have, but life changes happen, and now I have treated myself to a laptop, which makes posting much easier.
I was surprised to see that I had also made some posts when I was quitting smoking, and I'm pleased to say I am still a non-smoker! Go me!
Many changes to Hive over the years as well, for example, I used to use @blocktrades, which is now gone, so I will need to relearn how to convert my HBD into other crypto again ha ha!
I can't wait to post with you my plans over the next few months, but until then Happy Hiving!!
