I found a strange fruit at a local market in Kuala Lumpur. This pine-cone looking fruit is called pulasan, which looks like a lychee.
It is more expensive than the rambutan, but the rambutan has a thin shibu skin that clings to the seed, which is a hindrance to the taste, but the pulasan has no skin, so it tastes great!
The price of pulasan is 8RM/kg (about 300 Japanese yen?). You can only buy from a minimum of 1kg, so I bought about 10 pieces
