Two years ago, Sam called for us and we all responded with the speed of light. I remember the day this all started like it was just yesterday. I remember how my Nigerian siblings and i ran over and stood at the frontlines when Sam called for us, it was literally one of the best moments of my early years on the hive blockchain. One of the goals of this initiative if i’m not mistaken has always been to bring together all of our Nigerian brothers and sisters scattered all over the hive blockchain, to create a home where they can share, build and grow with others, without feeling alone or left out, especially when the journey gets tough. Mind you, this initiative has always been opened to all, it is opened to everyone out there and that is why it was made transparent since day one, which means we will always welcome you wholeheartedly as long as you find your way there, that’s how loving and accommodating we can be to not just our brothers and sisters but also to everyone out there. This initiative has always been a connecting link between the people and the hive blockchain. In case you don’t know yet, this initiative has indeed delivered to the latter, and i am sure many people can attest to this fact…
It’s been over two years since @samostically called each and everyone of us to Sam’s weekend hangout. This hangout starts from Friday evening to Sunday night, and as one of the early members of this beautiful initiative, i must say i have indeed been greatly impacted since it was founded, and I also know for a fact that the statement i just made above is not only applicable to me but also to many other Nigerians out there. I just had to make it a personal statement because i am only sure about my feelings and can’t really say much about others, for me it’s certain while for others there are likely some uncertainties laying around…
I have been on this prompt for over two days now and i still haven’t been able to deliver whatever i have in my head, even with the fact that i have many things to say, crazy right? The most craziest aspect of this whole thing is that i was this close to giving up on this prompt. I didn’t come to this decision because of lack of interest or motivation, but because i just have too many things to share, too many experiences to let out, but then i didn’t know where to start from. The old me would have drafted over a thousand and five hundred words right now, especially with my intimate familiarity with the topic of discussion…
I was this close to giving up on it, but after thinking it through, I have decided to cut the experiences short, that way it will be easier for my audience to understand and appreciate…
First and foremost, a big shoutout to my fellow early members of this beautiful initiative. To me, these people and many others made the hangout more fun, enjoyable and interesting for all because of their unwavering commitment and dedication towards the growth of the hangout. In terms of engagements, contributions, warm welcomes, and most importantly support towards making the goal of this initiative achievable, these people are my own definition of VVIP, and they definitely deserve to be recognized and appreciated…
The likes of @hopestylist @merit.ahama @nkemakonam89 @kenechukwu97 @justfavour @b0s @mercysugar @dimmablogs, kei2, oluwalium, mrenglish and the rest. These people were the ones i can say i remember starting this initiative with, and along the lines we had some new faces joining us, and before we knew it we all robbed off on each other and started making engagement waves weekly, with lots of badges earned as time went by. At first it was just Hope and I disturbing both the hangout and the blockchain, back then Hope and i were each others engagement strength, we were literally hand-made twins 😂, wherever you see her you will definitely see me and vice versa, this is known to everyone close to us. This was something we chose to do both for the improvement of the hangout and also on the hive blockchain in general…
THE EXPERIENCE…
My experience with Sam’s hangout has been nothing short of amazing, interesting, impactful, fun, engaging and entertaining. These are just the few words I can use to describe my experiences so far. I and the others have been with the initiative since day one, we have shared, learned and grown together in the last two years. The aim of this initiative has been achieved over and over again because of everyone, and the fact that this initiative has in one way or another contributed to our overall growth on the hive blockchain is the most significant impact ever. I must give kudos to the brains behind this initiative. The experience so far has been amazing and worthwhile…
Most Memorable Topic…
Honestly, for the early birds like me, I can’t really pinpoint that one particular topic that is considered most memorable, and that’s because every topic is memorable to me, the fact that the topic for every week always have one or two take homes is the best feeling ever, which is why i would say EACH AND EVERY TOPIC that has been talked about so far is worth being called memorable. This week’s topic would be the 77th topic we are discussing since we started the Sam’s weekend hangout, this means we’ve had 76 different topics to talk about in the past. One of the topics that struck me greatly and is kinda one of the ones I can still remember is the one that talked about our respective hive struggles. This topic sparked a lot of engagement in the past. If you have been following us from day one, you’d have known about our weekly milestones, that’s to tell you how interesting everything has been since week one…
The reason why the hive struggles topic struck differently was because it actually took me back to the genesis of my journey, the struggles of everyone were something i could almost relate to from afar. I had the best mentor @burlarj to put me through everything so I didn’t really suffer too many difficulties as a newbie. He literally held my hand through it all, and I respect him for that, seeing people talk about their issues with post tags actually resonates with me on a different level, the topic was actually quite engaging, different and definitely worthwhile…
What is an hangout without an exchange of conversation, Hope and I almost killed ourself alongside others with exchange of conversations. I have exchanged uncountable conversations on the hangout and that too with different people, all of which include Nkem, Merit, Hope, Justfavour, Kenechukwu, Bos, Vickoly, Mercysugar and 50 others 😂, that’s how deep I have been in the hangout since it started, the conversation with these people has shaped my hive journey in various ways, they have in one way or another made me see things differently and i must say a big thank you for that…
The Friends i made…
This hangout didn’t only shape my hive journey, it also gave me friends who have now become siblings. Some of these people were my friends before the hangout, and after the hangout they became my family members and best friends. I have mentioned most of them above, but for the sake of clarity I’d mention them again. Hope, Merit, Nkem, @vickoly , mercysugar, B0s, @iskafan @emreal and many others. I don’t know for a certain if anyone has joined the hangout because of me but one thing I know for a certain is that i have definitely inspired so many people to keep bringing their best to the hangout. I have been on the hangout discord server for a while now and it’s been greatness upon greatness since i joined. I mean we are back, bigger, better and stronger…
In summary, Sam’s hangout is not an ordinary hangout, it’s a place of entertainment, fun, improvement, growth and overall progress, especially when it comes to how to survive on the hive blockchain. One word for sam’s weekend hangout, that word will be T.E.G.P (Transparent, educational, growth and Progress)…
In conclusion, this hangout has definitely made my hive experience better and more interesting. What I’ve gained from this hangout is a once in a lifetime opportunity and that’s because of the fact that there is a hangout like SAM’S HANGOUT on the hive blockchain. Kudos man!…
