En uno de mis viajes pasé por un lugar muy particular en el municipio de Sonsón, Antioquia. Se trata del Hotel El Tesoro, un sitio que es a la vez hotel y restaurante, muy económico y ubicado cerca del parque principal del pueblo. Desde Medellín, el trayecto en moto dura aproximadamente 3 horas.
Ese día ya era hora de almorzar, eran más o menos las tres de la tarde. Había reservado en otro lugar porque me habían dicho que este hotel usualmente se mantiene bastante ocupado. Pero no podía dejar de entrar a conocerlo… y qué sorpresa tan grata me llevé. Me contaron que el hotel fue diseñado con una temática de antigüedades para rendir homenaje a las tradiciones y recuerdos del pasado, especialmente de nuestros abuelos.
Al entrar, quedé impresionada con la cantidad de elementos del pasado que decoraban el lugar. Cada rincón tiene su propio nombre y estilo.
El Rincón del Abuelo y el Rincón de la Abuela, donde se podían ver cámaras antiguas, platos, adornos y objetos que seguramente muchos hemos visto en casa de nuestros padres o abuelos. También tenían el Rincón de las Herramientas, lleno de utensilios de otra época que hoy son difíciles de conseguir, además de televisores y muebles antiguos.
Fue inevitable pensar: “¿Será que puedo hacer algo así en casa de mis papás?”, porque entre tantas cosas que ellos guardan, uno se inspira 😂
Almorcé un delicioso plato de pescado acompañado de música tranquila y un ambiente muy relajado. Luego del almuerzo, me dediqué a recorrer uno por uno todos esos rincones tan mágicos, incluyendo un balcón encantador que da hacia la vía principal del pueblo. Aunque no todas las habitaciones tienen vista hacia esos rincones, son muy lindas, organizadas y con un aire muy hogareño.
🌿 Sonsón es un pueblo lleno de encanto, con un clima fresco que ronda entre los 16 °C y 22 °C, perfecto para caminar, respirar aire puro y desconectarse del ruido de la ciudad.

On one of my trips, I passed through a very special place in the municipality of Sonsón, Antioquia. It is the Hotel El Tesoro, a place that is both a hotel and a restaurant, very affordable and located near the town's main park. From Medellín, the journey by motorcycle takes approximately three hours.
That day, it was already lunchtime, around three in the afternoon. I had made a reservation at another place because I had been told that this hotel is usually quite busy. But I couldn't resist going in to check it out... and what a pleasant surprise I got. I was told that the hotel was designed with an antique theme to pay homage to the traditions and memories of the past, especially those of our grandparents.
Upon entering, I was impressed by the number of elements from the past that decorated the place. Each corner has its own name and style.
Grandfather's Corner and Grandmother's Corner, where you could see old cameras, plates, ornaments, and objects that many of us have surely seen in our parents' or grandparents' homes. They also had the Tool Corner, full of utensils from another era that are difficult to find today, as well as old televisions and furniture.
It was inevitable to think, “Could I do something like this at my parents' house?” because among all the things they keep, one gets inspired 😂
I had a delicious fish dish for lunch accompanied by quiet music and a very relaxed atmosphere. After lunch, I spent some time exploring all those magical corners, including a charming balcony overlooking the main street of the village. Although not all the rooms have a view of those corners, they are very nice, organized, and have a very homely feel.
🌿 Sonsón is a charming town with a cool climate ranging between 60°F and 72°F, perfect for walking, breathing fresh air, and disconnecting from the noise of the city.
