India is home to a vast array of festivals celebrated by different religions, communities, and regions throughout the year. The "peak" of the festival season is from August / September through March. It began with the holy month of Saavan and ends with Holi - The festival of colors. In line with the vadious festival during the season, yesterday, Indian have celebrated Krishna Janamaahtami. The festival is celebrated with so much enthusiasm in India, because it marks the divine birth of Lord Krishna. While Indians celebrate the occasion in big way, I marked the occasion by doing painting of Lord Krishna.
The name "Janmashtami" combines "Janma" i.e birth and "Ashtami" i.e eighth day, signifying the celebration of Krishna's birth on that specific day. Lord Krishna is considered to be the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu. The festival is an opportunity for deep spiritual connection, reflection, and a chance for devotees to reaffirm their commitment to divine principles. In this festival, the various temples were decorated with lights and flower. Devotees observe fasts, especially at midnight when Krishna is believed to have been born, and engage in prayers, chanting, and singing devotional songs. The festival is transcendental event meant to spiritually uplift all beings.

Paying my devotion to the Lord, I began my art pretty late at night. I make use of
- water color
- white sheet of paper
It took me well good an hour and more to complete the painting. The drawing steps include the following :
The temple and replicas are of Lord Jagannath situated in Puri. I began the painting by keeping all my deawing instrument in front of me. I color the white sheet to Blue, to giving a texture of the sky. The three faces are of Lord Jagannath, his sister Subhadra and Balram. It was deaw with pure devotion on the auspicious occasion. The out come of the painting is pretry good in my perpective. I leave you all to rate it.
