Mabuhay! Welcome to my page!
I couldn't wait to get myself into this community the moment it was described by my close colleague, @ybanezkim26. Following the contents of my other friends, @legendarryll and @thegaillery, I realized that there's an indefinite expanse to what your mind can tell and sure a platform like this would be perfect for anything possible.
My name is Queen from the Philippines and I am a chemical engineer by profession. Although I immerse myself 8hrs, 5-6 days into profuse technical endeavors and decision-making, I largely feed myself with thoughts of better ways to spend my free time. On weekdays, I engross myself with chemicals, reports and journals; weekends, conversely, are about trying to squeeze a quick trail run, a 20-lap swim or another form of activity.
My decision to join the Steemit community is essentially attributed to my growing passion for the kids, education, and the community.
Last 2014, I spearheaded Project LIBRO, a community-extension service program which aimed to install mini-libraries in remote rural schools in Cebu. With the support of my organization, University of San Carlos Chemical Engineering Society (USCChES), the project currently has 3 beneficiary schools and has received national recognition after being one of the finalists in the 2016 TAYO (Ten Accomplished Youth Organization) Awards. Since then, a lot of opportunities has opened up for schools and students in the form of facility improvements and partnerships.

I hope that by joining this platform, we will be able to expand the support for rural areas and inspire others as well by sharing the same passion for the community.

Story-telling activity
The details of the program, its sustainability and how this project became the foundation of my goals and aspirations will be featured in my future contents.
For now, let's make this quick acquaintance be a portal to possibilities between you and me. Cheers!
