- Today I want to share with you this SOS I made on my Hedera helix, which I got at the beginning of the year while shopping for furniture for my home. Sadly, in August I went on vacation for a week and unfortunately didn't have anyone to take care of my plants. Even though I tried to leave them in the best possible condition and well hydrated, this year we had very high temperatures in Portugal, so at the beginning of summer I had to rescue this plant several times due to the high temperatures. I had to water it twice a week, which is normal, but I had to check on it every day and feel the soil to verify the moisture level of its roots and whether it was getting enough water. I always managed to save it, but after my vacation, when I saw it in this state, it broke my heart because it is really in very bad shape. but I won't give up and I'll try to save it.
- My aunt is the plant expert in the family, so I followed her advice to begin the recovery process. The first thing I did was confirm that it was dehydration and not a fungus, so we removed our patient from the pot and removed the extra soil until we could see its roots. I didn't detect any signs of fungus, and its roots are intact, so we have some hope. Then I removed all the dry parts of the plant, leaving only the green parts. I placed coconut coir at the bottom to help retain more water and nutrients for our plant. Then I added perlite substrate, which helps with oxygenation in plants, both at the bottom and top of the plant. Finally, I added vinegar and water, of course, to hydrate it. Vinegar is a natural disinfectant, so I added some to prevent any fungus, just to be on the safe side. I will water it three times a week, checking every day to make sure the roots are getting water. I don't expect to see any leaves this year because summer is ending and it's normal for plants to lose their leaves in autumn. However, I will take good care of it and keep an eye on its progress.
- The plant was so beautiful and green before it ended up in this situation. Even though it was a hassle because it always tended to dry out quickly, I loved its leaves. I hope to see it like that again, and I won't give up on getting the plant back to how it was before. If you have any tips on how to revive the plant, could you please share them in the comments?

- El día de hoy quiero compartirles este SOS que realice en mi Hedera helix, que la obtuve a principio de año un día comprando muebles para mi hogar, pero tristemente en agosto fui de vacaciones por una semana y lastimosamente no tenía alguien que cuidara mis plantas, a pesar de que intente dejarlas en el mejor estado posible y bien hidratas, este año presentamos unas temperaturas muy altas en Portugal, así que esta planta al inicio de verano tuve que rescatarla varias veces debido a las altas temperatura, deber de regar 2 veces a la semana que es lo habitual tuve que supervisarla todos los días y palpar para verificar la hidratación de sus raíces, si el agua estaba llegando suficiente, siempre tuve sucesos en salvarla, pero después de las vacaciones y la vi en este estado me rompió el corazón porque realmente está muy mal, pero no me rendiré e intentaré salvarla.
- Mi tía es la señora de las plantas de la familia así que seguí sus consejos para comenzar el proceso de recuperación, lo primero que hice fue registrar que se trataba mismo de deshidratación y no por un hongo, así que retiramos nuestra paciente de la maceta y retiraremos la tierra extra hasta ver sus raíces. No detecté registro de hongo, sus raíces están intactas, por lo cual tenemos un poco de esperanza. Después retiré todas las partes de la planta seca, dejando solo la parte con tonalidad verde. En el fondo coloqué extraño de coco para que eso ayudara a mantener más agua y nutrientes a nuestra planta. Después le agregué substrato de perlitas que eso ayuda con el oxígeno en las plantas y el oxígeno, tanto la parte de bajo y arriba de la planta, por último agregue vinagre y agua por supuesto para hidratar y el vinagre es un desinfectante natural, entonces para prevenir algún hongo, por seguridad agregue algo. El tiempo de riego será de 3 veces a la semana, palpando todos los días para asegurar que las raíces están recibiendo agua, no tengo esperanza ver sus hojas este año porque el verano está terminando y en otoño es normal que las plantas pierdan sus hojas; sin embargo, la mantendré con cuidado y vigilando su evolución.
- Así de hermosa y verde era la planta antes de encontrarse en esa situación, a pesar de que fue un dolor de cabeza porque siempre era propensa a secarse rápido, me encantaban sus hojas, espero volverla ver así y no me rendiré para volver a tener la planta como era antes.
