*Are self-portraits a good tool to make your creative developments visible over time? I would guess so.*

School started again. During the first half-year, one of my assignments was to [create a self-portrait](https://peakd.com/hive-194913/@r00sj3/self-portrait). My struggle and reluctance made it one of my easiest photos that got accepted. This whole year, I am starting to learn that one of the easiest ways to find inspiration is to look close to your own heart. Your own simple struggles are good enough and interesting enough. Is it because it is easier for people to relate to the tiny things in life? This second module, we received a new assignment on self-portraits. Looking back at our first edition and using everything we have learned so far, we needed to make a new version. *Argh, here we go again....* I really had no idea what to do with it. I let it go, there was still plenty of time to come up with something. In the meantime, I went on a little holiday that was quite a disaster, energy-wise. I hardly left my room and barely touched my camera! This whole photography school was completely ruining my appetite for shooting holiday pictures (A curse that also touched one of my classmates, I later learned). The upside of being in my room all the time? I had all the time to explore my amazing roof terrace. And in the evening, I noticed the light coming through the shutters from my room. Shadowplay time!! I love how related it is to my previous shot. And also how completely different. Does it truly represent my development as a photographer? I think it is a magnification of the direction I am headed in. I love the more autonomous artsy shots. And this is more abstract than I am used to, but I enjoy looking at it. *If only my house had those shutters too ;)*
