Some postcards from Berlin 🇩🇪

Hello hiver!

Today I'll present some photos I shot a year ago in various Berlin districts. Sharing with you my experiences in that city, which enthralled me with its contrasts and beauty, is the aim.

I'll start with two photos taken on Museum Island. The first is a panoramic view of the Spree River and the bridge used by urban trains in the background. The other was taken from under a bridge, and in the background, you can see the river and some old buildings.

Hoy les presento algunas fotos que tomé hace un año en varios barrios de Berlín. Mi objetivo es compartir con ustedes mis experiencias en esa ciudad, que me cautivó por sus contrastes y belleza.

Empiezo con dos fotos tomadas en la Isla de los Museos. La primera es una vista panorámica del río Spree y el puente por el que pasan los trenes urbanos al fondo. La otra fue tomada desde debajo de un puente, y al fondo se puede ver el río y algunos edificios antiguos.

From great churches to little temples, Berlin is replete with many types of religious structures. I came across the following information on Wikipedia: The French Cathedral of Berlin is an Evangelical church, built between 1701 and 1705, and inaugurated in the latter year. It was rebuilt in 1981.

Built completely of exposed brick, the Friedrichswerder Church's orange and reddish hues provide a very unique beauty. Another church in central Berlin.

From Wikipedia: "The Friedrichswerder Church is a museum whose building was originally designed as a religious temple by architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel in central Berlin, near the Berlin Academy of Architecture and the Royal Palace. It has a neo-Gothic style and was founded in 1824."

Construida completamente con ladrillo a caravista, los tonos anaranjados y rojizos de la Iglesia de Friedrichswerder le confieren una belleza singular. Otra iglesia en el centro de Berlín.

04- Friedrichswerder Church

No matter where you are, you will sense the kinetic energy of Berlin. The photo is of one of those kinetic spots, the entrance to Friedrichstraße station. From Wikipedia: "Berlin Friedrichstraße is a railway station in Germany's capital of Berlin. It is situated on Friedrichstraße, an important north-south arterial road in Mitte, near the point where the street runs over the River Spree, and a U-Bahn station (Friedrichstraße U-Bahn) lies below the railway station."

Estés donde estés, sentirás la energía cinética de Berlín. La foto muestra uno de esos puntos cinéticos: la entrada a la estación de Friedrichstraße. The last photo is of a spiral staircase I discovered at the entrance to a sort of art gallery in an interior courtyard, known as the Schwarzenberg House (Haus Schwarzenberg in German).
