Spinatia (Reaper Type)

Hello Again My Friends

Welcome back. Today I like to show you another figma model that I've recently purchase from Hobby Link. But this time, it's a female type, and this warrior is quite fearsome with intimidating aura. This is another line up from Bandai Namco, the same people who made Pac Man and Tekken. I figured I take a little break from Nexus Prime and get back into building figma models for more inspiration. I know I definitely deserve it, since I tirelessly worked on him for almost a month! 😅 But building this model was a nice change of pace. If you like to read my other figma model post, click here 👉 Spinatio Army Type. Well, without further ado, here is my walkthrough on building Spinatia the reaper type!

For this box art, I think it's a bit underwhelming. If there were more dynamic poses from Spinatia, this would look way more cooler. Also, she has one weapon and wings. Whereas Spinatio (army type) came with 2 weapons and a shield. Which I believe brings more value for that figma model. What really stands out to me is the main model towards the right. She has a strong stoic pose with her axe staff, ready to slay and take souls!

This actually came with more pieces then I expected. Which is great for me because I knew I was going to have a great time building this model. This comes with wings which can also transform into a mech. If you have a display stand for it, it can act as a campion for Spinatia. I should definitely get a display stand of my other mech models. Then that way I can make more poses for them.

Another beautiful manual for building the figure. I really like how it holds your hand so that you can build the model more efficiently and effectively. Although this is quite similar to the Spinatio army type model, the reaper type comes with different arms, legs, shins, feet, chest, and head model. The joints that you see in the photo above are 100% identical to the army type. What I'd like to mention is that if you wanted to, you could mix and match different types of figma models so that you can create your very own mech model. Which is freaking awesome! 😎

When I was building the model, I noticed that the head was a lot bigger than the army type model. I'm not really sure why bandai namco would do this, but I found it quite strange. But then it grew on me, and I eventually begin to like it. It's probably the cool cat ears and the hot ass pink visor. 😊 Another thing that i've noticed was how stiff the joints were and how it took a little more effort to to move the different limbs. This is actually a major plus and a good thing because the life of the joints are significantly extended. And since I pose these figures every once in while, I don't have to worry about wear and tear so much. Most of the time my figures are sitting on my stand looking awesome.

And finally, this is what Spinatia's first form looks like. I think the look of the first form is on par with the army type model. I still haven't completed this within 30 minutes but it took me less time to complete it than the army type. Now, the armor pieces however, was a bit more complicated to put together. There were several pieces that I had to put together for the left and right wing. Then, I had to attach the back piece to the wings and on to Spinatia. As you can see in the photo, it shows you the wings wrapping around both arms. After that, I built the axe staff which was by far the easiest. Here's some photo's showcasing the base model and the final form for Spinatia!

And that's all folks! I really enjoyed building this model as well. It really puts me at ease and in a flow state where I can relax and just focus on building and listening to my music. I actually built this a little faster than the army type model because they are very similar. Also, it's probably because I was building Nexus Prime for many hours. In a minute here, i'm going to be an expert in building mech models now. 😅 While I was putting Spinatia together, it gave me few idea's on how I should update Nexus Prime with his different limbs and the overall structure of the model. I'm actually working on that as I'm writing this post. Lastly, I have another figma model that I like to show you guys at a later date. So stay tune for that. 😃

I listen to this every morning. It's kind of like my main theme now (lol). But if you haven't watched Samurai Champloo, you should definitely go watch that. It has some of the best music produced by Fat Jon and Nujabes.

And as always, have a good one guys, until next time, peace, love, and positivity. I'm out.
