"I Determine My Own Destiny."
Hello Again My Friends
Welcome back. I just wanted to thank everyone who supported my last post. It means a lot to me, especially it being my first post in a long time. So thank you again for being super, ultra, mega, turbo, fantastic, awesome individuals. ✌️😎 I wanted to get my creative muscles flowing again. Its been a very long since I've created something in general. So, I settled with making a maze for you guys to solve. But it isn't like a normal boring maze, I wanted to challenge myself with the creative process.
I went with Shadow The Hedgehog as the main focus for the maze because he's one of my most favorite characters in Sonic The Hedgehog. He's just smooth, very mysterious, and the coolest. He's also quite complex, like a maze, just trying to find his own way in the world. Oh, and another thing. Sonic The Hedgehog 3 ( The movie) just came out not too long ago. I still haven't seen it yet. So no spoilers please. But I heard it was pretty amazing. Anyway, I got the maze from a website called Discovery Education. https://puzzlemaker.discoveryeducation.com/maze You can randomly generate your own mazes on there. It's actually pretty cool. You can also download a pdf file so you can print it and have other people solve your cool puzzles. I literally spent so much time generating mazes on the website (lol). So you guys should have a go at it.
When I was done having fun with generating mazes, I moved the file to Adobe illustrator and traced every line on the maze. Yes, you read that correctly! This was probably the most tedious part of the project. I had to do this so that I could save it as a svg file and move it into blender, a 3D program that I've been using for many years.
Uhhh hold your horses, try not to solve the puzzle just yet...
But, this is what it looks like when you move a svg file into blender. After that, I pretty much extrude the entire maze so it would become a 3D mesh. I added a chaos emerald to the goal because that's what shadow needs to have the ability to stop time. So, I found it very fitting to add that in. I got the Shadow The Hedgehog model from sketchfab. It has free models that you can download for your 3D projects. I chose this particular model because I felt like it meshed well with the concept that I was going for and also I thought it was pretty cute. 😊 So after that, I added some color to the maze model, rendered the image, moved that image to photoshop, and polished it with more details. With that being said, here's the final results.
Try To Solve This Brain Boggling Maze Of Mysteries! The Answer is at the bottom of the blog post if you can't figure it out (lol).
If you need to see a bigger image, just right click on the image and open image in new tab or you can just download it. I really enjoyed making this small little project. It really got my creative brain going during the process. Almost feels like a sense of nostalgia. And again, It's been so long since I've created something. So, it feels good to create this and post it on Hive. I think I might create more video game themed mazes. Let me know if you guys want to see more video game related mazes. I'll be happy to make more. ☺️
