Sailing on currents, the manta's ballet echoes the chant of abyss.
This image by nanoom from Pixabay captured my eye completely and submerged me into the mystical undersea world I've written about many times on hive in my scuba scribe travel blogs. I have been lucky enough to see a few large eagle rays, but yet to see the illusive manta ray.
I have seen many scuba diving videos of them turning circles over divers in famous dive destinations like the Maldive islands. When you see these majestic ocean giants at play like this it really does look like a dance.
These thoughts and memories are what inspired the theme of the Haiku.
There are a million sounds popping and crackling when you dive on a reef, and those are just what can be heard in the human range of frequencies. In this poem I tried to imagine what the Manta might hear to inspire its dance.
This is the final day in my month of Haiku. If you have enjoyed this post and would like to read more Haiku (with accompanying blog) please check out what I have posted on my homepage, @raj808, over the last month.
