Music slivers shivering gold through this barky body’s mould, infused with the simple rain glistening through the grain.
Alone, standing nature’s advance in the wind’s caress I dance, each branch conducts a symphony, birds’ chorus dawns immediacy.
Sunlight penetrates my leaves, I follow her face as she breathes life into this emerald earth, where I realised my seeded birth.
Below I root myself in darkness weighing thought in heaviness. I sink through time like a stone, seeming still, but still, I’ve grown from here to there, up and down while quicker life flits around my steady world and every year is a heartbeat I can barely hear.
Heavy, muffled, fading clouds crown me with sallow shrouds. Weeping light from distant shores, Absorbed through dew by thirsty pores.
