I watched these giraffes in the Kaliningrad zoo.
Male height reaches six meters!!! Female giraffes have five meters.
Giraffe-herbivore. Having a long neck, giraffe got a competitive advantage in the extraction of food, foliage is available to him at an inaccessible height for many herbivores.
All my assumptions about the weight of a giraffe have failed. I could not even imagine that these long, and seemingly fragile legs, so gracefully move on the planet earth 1.5 tons of weight! Females weigh no more than 800 kg.
In the wild, life expectancy is 25 years. Habitat-South and South-East of the Sahara desert in the African Savannah.
